After what has been a truly stellar season, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has reached its conclusion and the final episode of the show was nothing short of spectacular!

As the episode opens, we see Karen and Matt walking through the streets of New York into a bar where they're laughing over drinks. Just when it seems like we've perhaps jumped ahead in the story, Karen snaps out of her daydream and we enter the courthouse as her trial contines. Matt has not yet arrived for court and Kirsten confirms he'll be in soon but they can proceed without him.

We cut to Matt getting patched up after taking a bullet to the leg in the previous episode with help from Jessica Jones. Matt admits that he doesn't think Fisk will try to kill Karen, not without him in his sights which is right where he needs to be to bring him down.

Buck comes to see Fisk and informs him that Daniel has been taken care of after he failed to deliver BB as promised. Fisk is clearly feeling the pressures of the job, and he informs Buck that Matt has survived the night as he hands him some paperwork, and Buck questions if he really wants to go through with a plan, one we don't immediately learn.

Heather is on the stand testifying as Matt finally enters the courtroom and apolgizes to Karen and Kirsten for being late. Heather reads a passage from her book about vigilantes noting that a viglantes's real mask is the one that they wear in their public lives. Kirsten questions the comments and asks Heather if she struck Karen during their interogation. As Kirsten steps away, he asks how Karen could be a viglante if she never had a persona. Heather notes she never needed one as she hid behind Daredevil, to which Matt quips how it's similar to how Heather is hiding behind Fisk.

Matt calls Fisk to the stand and Fisk enters the courtoom with worlds blending in a way we've not seen this season with the pair about to go to battle in the courtroom. Fisk is sworn in as Powell and dozens of AVTF task force agents fill the courtroom in a clear sign of power.

Fisk notes that when he was a boy, he was taught to find the biggest man and bring him down, but as he grew, he realized no man stands as tall as the courthouse and these institutions. Matt thanks Fisk for taking to the stand and admits he was surprised he showed up. We cut to Bullseye entering a room where he sees a man dressed up in a costume set up, hinting that they were planning on framing him.

We return to the courthouse as Fisk talks about his anti-vigilante laws and the need to bring criminals such as Karen Page and Daredevil to justice. Matt points out that these laws were put in place to make the streets safer, as Matt questions whether this is the case and presses Fisk on his policies and how they did not prevent a criminal from killing his wife. Matt makes it clear he's simply trying to prove the differnecc between a criminal and a vigilante.

Matt asks Fisk if Daredevil sunk the Northern Star and introduces video testimony from the ship's first mate, who was disposed before he "disappeared." The judges call Matt and the DA to chambers; as they debate, Fisk makes it clear he could bring him down with his testimony, knowing Matt can hear him from chambers. The judges allow the footage to be shown, and we watch as he reveals how the ship was carrying illegal weapons and ordered to sink the ship to cover evidence. The first mate notes that it was Fisk who gave the order.

Matt asks Fisk what if the people of New York consider Daredevil a hero? He mentions how he took a bullet for Fisk and asks if that makes him a hero. Before Fisk can answer, Jessica Jones walks in with the governor as Matt presses him for an answer again. Matt pressed Fisk on whether he was smuggling the weapons in, and he told Matt he doesn't get to know what comes through the port. Matt continues to press things as he notes that they both know who Daredevil is and he knows exactly who the real criminal is.

Fisk calls Matt a fool as he shocks the courthouse by announcing himself as Daredevil. He then proceeds to tell the judges how he and Jessica can both testify to Fisk's criminal doings. In light of the evidence, the judges note that Karen's crimes cannot be judged by this court as they dismiss the case with prejudice.

The governor informs Fisk that she will be seeking to remove him from office as he walks away. He comes face-to-face with Matt as Powell calls through for the assassin to take Matt out. That's when Bullseye comes through instead and fires off a shot that hits Buck as the courthouse goes into lockdown.

Fisk goes live from the courthouse and notes that New York is in a state of emergency. He notes that right now, they're under seige and as they speak their enemies are assembling and coming for all of us. He makes it clear to the publsh he will not abandon them; that he will stand and fight as he tries to weaponize the citizens. BB goes live with a new Kingpin video and notes that Fisk lies as she shows footage of the AVTS and tells the citizens it's time they take the city back. Hundreds descne upon the courtouse prepared to go to battle.

Fisk makes it clear to the AVTF that Karen and Daredevil are not to leave the building alive under any circumstances. We cut to Matt who has suited up as Daredevil, as he informs Karen the task force is coming. He and Jessica head out, leaving Karen, Kirsten, and the govenor behind.

Fisk gets a call from the attorney general, but he hangs up. Buck is worsening as the DA tells Heather there is no reason they should burn down with Fisk. Outside, Powell orders North to shoot those who have gathered outside, but North orders Powell to be taken away as he lets the people through.

Inside, Daredevil and Jessica Jones begin taking down the AVTF as Shelia gets a call from the attorney general again ordering Fisk's resignation and to leave. If he leaves, they won't come after him but he refuses as he orders for the door to be opened. He then begins attacking the Daredevil supporters outside.

Eventually, Daredevil and his followers come together in the courtroom as a bloody Fisk emerges and takes to the balcony shouting to those below how he's fought for them as all he wanted was a better New York. Matt tries to stop the crown from breaking into chaos but they quickly begin to race up the stairs towards Fisk, overcoming him and beating him. Matt eventually gets the group to stop their attack and tells Fisk this is over for both of them. Matt begs Fisk to walk away and take the deal, which Fisk ultimately does.

We return to the Painted Rose where Matt and Karen are having dinner. Neither can believe it's realy over and as he Matt notes this normal live thing is actually really hard. He confesses he's not sure how to do it as she admits she's not sure either, but would like to take a shot at it. From outside, Matt hears sirens in the distance as police arrive on the scene and Karen admits she thought they'd have more time.

Matt drops to his knees as an officer comes in to arrest him for Daredevil's crimes. Matt and Karen exchange "I love yous" as he's taken away by the police.
