Superhero fans had to patiently wait one year to watch more of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen on the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of the first season of his hit Disney+ show. After months of anticipation and theory-crafting, not only is Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finally here, but it is also coming to its end. Audiences have watched Matt Murdock and Karen Page do their best to remain hidden in a city controlled by the Kingpin of Crime, but the time of remaining in the shadows is coming to an end.

Daredevil's army is unstoppable now, with the recent addition of everyone's favorite private investigator, Jessica Jones. The pieces are set for an explosive finale that will see a protector disguised as the devil go face-to-face with the devil himself, disguised as the city's mayor. Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk have a complicated history, but it seems the worst is yet to come. Only two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 remain, but, unfortunately, the next one will break a record that isn't particularly exciting.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 7 will be the shortest of the season

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 7, titled "The Hateful Darkness", will arrive on Disney Plus on Tuesday, April 28, at 9 pm ET, 6 pm PT, 7 pm MT, and 8 pm CT. The episode will have a reported runtime of 44 minutes, making it the shortest of the second season. For comparison, episodes 1, 4, and 8 are the longest, clocking in at 51 minutes, which means there's a seven-minute difference between them and next week's release.

On the one hand, it might be a bit disheartening to know Episode 7 won't be as long as the others. On the flipside, the series has already gone through a lot of setup, which means we're about to experience the payoff of the story told so far. Jessica Jones is already back into the mix (at long last), Wilson Fisk is now in full villain mode after the death of Vanessa, and Matt Murdock will stop at nothing to overthrow the city's corrupt mayor. It's only bound to get bloodier from here.

The last two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 were widely regarded as the very best of the bunch. With that in mind, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that we're about to face a similar scenario this time around, with Episodes 7 and 8 not only wrapping up the plot points set up so far, but also taking the story in a new and unexpected direction.

Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane has confirmed that the last minutes of Season 2 will give us a good idea of the story to be told in Season 3. Furthermore, with the confirmation that the Defenders will be back next year, there's a chance that either Luke Cage or Danny Rand will also join the action in the two episodes to come. Who knows? Maybe there are other unexpected surprises in store as well. Fortunately, it won't be long before we finally figure out how this story unfolds.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
