What a season it has been for Lanterns. The DC Studios series has been thrilling fans of the legendary Green Lantern throughout its run on both HBO and HBO Max with a mystery that none of us saw coming. Throwing the fate of one of the most famous DC Comics superheroes into question while also adding some unexpectedly heavy lore to the relatively light-hearted superhero. That's HBO and that's the DC Universe franchise for you!
The question is: Will the upcoming penultimate episode answer the question we have all been asking. You know the question: Who killed Hal Jordan? Is he really dead? And what does it all mean for the DC Universe? Let's hope it's time for answers, because John Stewart, Sheriff Kerry Kane, and everyone else who knew about the Manhunter debacle in Rushville needs answers.

The episode takes us back to 1975 as a young Hal gets in trouble at school for not giving the ball to the kid who punched him. Instead of questioning him, his father supported him - getting into a fight with the teacher, which resulted in both Jordan boys sporting a black eye. Hal's father shares a popsicle with him, and the two talk about the importance of the Jordan legacy. Hal throws the ball away after being told by his father to let go. We then flash forward to his funeral and, eventually, the present when the holographic Hal demands answers from John as to why he is dead.
