Just three years after we thought Universal was closing the books on its Jurassic universe, the beloved franchise returns with a fresh new addition fans aren't going to want to miss. Jurassic World Rebirth brings us back into a world where dinosaurs roam among us, ushering in a new entry to the franchise that is truly one of the best Jurassic films since the original.

Jurassic World Rebirth kicks off what is going to be a massive July for moviegoers. In fact, I imagine it’s fair to say that you’re likely sitting in or about to head out to a movie theater at this very moment.

As a frequent moviegoer, one of the things I always do, either just before heading out or while I’m sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to begin, is ask the question we’ve been trained to ask thanks to Marvel: Is there a post-credits scene I need to stick around for? After all, the last thing you want is to miss a bonus scene. But at the same time, who wants to sit around for several minutes after a movie wraps only to find out you wasted your time?

So let’s cut to the chase.

There is no Jurassic World Rebirth post-credits scene (though Universal made us think there was)

While many films have begun incorporating post-credits and after-credits scenes, especially major blockbusters, the Jurassic franchise has never been one to leverage them. This trend continued with Jurassic World Rebirth as there was no post-credits or after-credits scene within the film, though the movie definitely made us believe there was going to be one.

When watching Jurassic World Rebirth during an early screening courtesy Cinemark’s Secret Movie Club, I stuck around through the credits in hopes there might be a bonus scene to include. As the credits neared the end, the music began to fade out and, in its place, we heard bird-like sounds. This pivot at the end of the credits made it seem like there was going to be an after-credits scene to enjoy; however, that was not the case. The screen faded to black with no bonus material to enjoy.

Aside from the tease that went nowhere, we really shouldn’t be surprised that there was no post-credits scene for Jurassic World Rebirth. Without giving any spoilers, it’s fair to say that the film tells a pretty self-contained story. There is certainly room for a follow-up project, and we imagine Universal might consider a sequel if the film performs well at the box office, but one is not necessarily needed.

So to recap, you’re indeed safe to leave the theater after the Jurassic World Rebirth credits begin rolling, as there is nothing waiting for you at the end of the credits.
