It's officially Spider-Man's time to shine. The webslinger has made his long-awaited return to movie theaters after years away from screens. We most recently saw Tom Holland's wall-crawler hero in Spider-Man: No Way Home back in 2021, and now he's back in Spider-Man: Brand New Day for another adventure. And this is quite the adventure, as it features both the Incredible Hulk and The Punisher, meaning that Spidey is once again in for a star-studded affair.
Of course, this is a movie that exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so audiences are intrigued as to whether they will be waiting around for another adventure after the credits. MCU films are renowned for mid and post-credits scenes, so will Spider-Man: Brand New Day add its name to that list? It's a little more complicated.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day features a post-credits tag (but not a typical movie scene)
While Spider-Man: Brand New Day has received critical acclaim, its post-credits scene is already dividing international audiences (trust me, as someone who sat in an audience full of groans and laughs, I would know!). The film doesn't featurew a traditional mid-credits scene like previous Spider-Man movies, but it does feature something at the end of the movie. The problem is that fans might not appreciate what is waiting for them after the credits roll, even if it is particularly huge to the future of the MCU.
If you really want to know what's waiting for you after the credits read on for a spoiler-filled breakdown.
*** The next section of this article will feature MAJOR SPOILERS from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credits tag ***
When the credits finish rolling, we are taken to an up-close look at the animated Spidey Tracker graphics designed by Ned Leeds. It marks the first and only time in the movie that the tacker isn't being used by someone else, but simply on the screen in front of us as if we were using it ourselves. And while that doesn't seem like much, it's what happens in the tag that is really quite major.

The Spidey Tracker pinpoints Spider-Man's location in New York before revealing that his location is moving out of Earth and past the moon. It momentarily loses him and then finds him again - in Space, well outside of his usual earthly realm. And, with that, it cuts to black wit the ominous words: "Spider-Man Will Return".
It doesn't tell us when or how, but it seemingly sets up his next adventure in the MCU. This might also explain why Tom Holland's Spider-Man is seemingly absent from Avengers: Doomsday. It also might set up his rumored return in 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. Has Spidey been transported to Battleworld by Doctor Doom? Has the destruction of the multiverse moved the pieces (a.k.a. heroes) around on the chess board? We'll have to wait and see, but it's clear that the whimsical nature of the Spidey Tracker post-credits tag is concealing a major, game-changing secret.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has arrived in movie theaters.
