After the DC Extended Universe failed to take off, the studio decided to go back to square one and create a new interconnected world set on an empty canvas. So what better superhero to lift things up than Superman himself? David Corenswet will portray a new iteration of Clark Kent who'll face no shortage of bad guys on his cinematic debut. But while audiences are excited to see what the first entry in the DCU will look like, they are also eager to learn what will come next.

Much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DCU will be divided into phases (or chapters, as the studio likes to name them). The first chapter is called Gods and Monsters, and so far, only half of the projects set to take place in it have been revealed. Supergirl, Clayface, The Brave and the Bold, Lanterns, and many more are coming our way in the upcoming years. But where will it all lead? Could we eventually see a Justice League movie? Is the DC Trinity coming together? Will Superman hint towards any of these future plans?

Fans have been eager to discover if the upcoming DCU movie will have any post-credits scene to tease what's next (much like the MCU), and after much speculation, we finally have an answer.

Superman has two post-credits scenes

The social media embargo for Superman has finally lifted in anticipation of the movie's release, and reactions are nothing short of super, man (my apologies for that one. I had to). Fans and media alike praise the film's performances, especially that of David Corenswet as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Furthermore, it seems there will be no shortage of easter eggs for superhero aficionados to spot. But the big question in play is: Is there a post-credits scene? Well, there are two, in fact.

It wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that DC will use these scenes to tease what will happen next in their interconnected universe. After all, such a tactic has become common in other big movie franchises, such as the MCU and Sonic, to name a few examples. It's worth keeping in mind that it won't be long before spoilers start to make their way online now that people have seen Superman. So if you don't want any surprises ruined, it's best to keep off social media until the early screenings on Jul. 8, or the movie's worldwide release on Jul. 11.

Meanwhile, rest assured knowing that Superman is shaping up to be an explosive start to the DCU in the best way possible. Everyone who's seen the film so far seems to agree that it perfectly captures the essence of the comic books that inspired it. That could play against it, as some people have claimed the story and tone can feel a bit cheesy at times. However, others state this approach allows Superman to perfectly recreate the feeling of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man saga, which is regarded amongst the best superhero adaptations ever created.

Lex Luthor's portrayal has been unanimously praised, and Krypto has been deemed a scene-stealer. The chemistry between Clark and Lois has been generating a lot of excitement as well, though some complain they don't have enough scenes together.

All things considered, it appears Superman isn't only a great stand-alone movie in itself, but also an indication of amazing things to come. If DC manages to keep the same level of quality on its upcoming projects, then it's safe to say that superhero fans will be more than excited. The best part? We're just a few days away from looking up and discovering just how high Clark Kent can fly.

Superman will be released on Jul. 11, 2025.
