The Boys series finale has officially arrived on Prime Video, and the final episode of the series brings the show to a close in an episode fans are sure to be talking about for months to come.

Don’t worry, there are no spoilers ahead for the final episode of the series. In fact, if you’ve landed on this particular article, odds are you’re just about to watch or are currently watching The Boys series finale and have found yourself wondering whether there is any bonus scene that comes after the final shot. It’s honestly a fair question to have, as superhero shows and movies, in particular, have trained our brains to expect a post or end-credits scene at the end of a project.

While The Boys has never utilized post-credits scenes frequently at the scale Marvel Studios and DC Comics titles have, the show has given fans a few bonus scenes in the past. In fact, on one of the rare occasions in which The Boys featured an end-credits scene, many missed the moment as it came after the studio logos had begun to roll with Prime Video’s interface wanting to send fans to the next episode before the scene actually played out.

For this reason, it’s understandable to wonder whether the series finale truly ends with the final shot or if there is any form of bonus content you should stick around for. So is there a post-credits or end-credits scene to enjoy in The Boys series finale?

The Boys series finale does include a post-credits clip (but it's not what you might expect)

The simple answer is that yes, there is a post-credit scene in The Boys season 5, episode 8; however, this bonus footage is not a scene from the show that continues the story beyond the final shot. Instead, The Boys series finale took time to celebrate the many incredibly talented individuals who helped make the show with a celebration of the cast and crew.

After the series finale comes to an end and the credits begin to roll, we get to see a series of behind-the-scenes photos from over the years in a really sweet montage honoring the creative team. While it's not an additional scene from the show, it's certainly worth sticking around for as it's a touching tribute to the team behind the show we all know and love.

Given that this was the series finale, we never really expected a bonus scene teasing a future project, as the only other confirmed series in the works from the franchise is Vought Rising, which is a prequel series. It would have been fun for Prime Video to tease the spinoff, but it was more fitting to let The Boys have its own moment with its series ender.

Plus, The Boys has never really leveraged post-credits scenes much, with only two post-credits scenes across its entire run. The first came at the end of season 3, episode 7, with a brief bonus scene connected to the animated creatures from Black Noir's imagination. Meanwhile, the second came in the season 4 finale to tease that Soldier Boy had survived and was in a cryogenic stasis chamber.

Those were fun, but The Boys never needed post-credits scenes, and the writers stuck the landing so perfectly with the final scene in the series that the cast and crew photo montage was the perfect route for the post-credits of the series finale!
