In the previous episode of Fallout season 2, viewers were all shown a very important flashback to when Cooper Howard (a.k.a. the Ghoul) meets the man he was supposed to kill: Robert House. The conversation didn't exactly go like anyone - including the two men involved - thought it would go, but it's something that changes the way Coop views everything.

House revealed that he knows about the bombs dropping in the future thanks to a mathematical equation. Coop didn't believe him until he explained that the original apocalypse date was moved up a month and happens to fall on Coop and Barbara Howard’s daughter’s birthday (more on that later). House also said that Coop's joining his wife in Las Vegas directly affected the date of the apocalypse. The Ghoul then left as if he didn't believe him, but it looks like he couldn't get over the feeling that House was telling the truth.

Back in the future/present, Hank MacLean finally perfected the gadget that controls people’s minds. Knowing that Lucy is on her way with the Ghoul, Hank sends a mind-controlled snake-oil salesman to inform them about how things were going to go: The Ghoul will take Lucy to the Vault, or he'll kill the Ghoul's wife and daughter.

While all of this is happening, Norm learns a secret about Barbara Howard, finding out that she was involved in something called Forced Evolutionary Virus. The description is cut off, but the part that isn’t says that F.V.E. is a gene-altering agent for organism supercharging. It’s easy to guess that this is what created the Deathclaws.

What to expect in Fallout season 2 episode 6

We are one step closer to finding out who dropped the bombs in Fallout. After the flashback the Ghoul had, it’s possible that Coop was indirectly responsible. And, if you go back to the first episode of the series, you’ll remember that the bombs did drop on his daughter Janey’s birthday, and he was divorced from his wife.

Hopefully, the upcoming sixth episode will explain how Howard's journey to Las Vegas in the past affected the apocalypse, and if Barbara Howard’s involvement with the end of the world and F.V.E. is why they got divorced.

Maybe more important than that is what’s next for Lucy and the Ghoul. Lucy may have punched him out of a window, but that doesn’t mean their friendship is over. The Ghoul will likely understand why she did it and try to save her.

As for Lucy, what does her father have planned for her? Hank could have left her in the hotel, but the preview above shows that he took his daughter to his base. You’ll also notice that his once-empty office now has workers. It looks like Hank officially solved the problem that was making his subjects’ brains explode. Now the question is who the people are working for him. It could have been the people who thought they were paying to live in a new world. Instead, they'll be mind-controlled drones.
