Back in 2021, audiences worldwide witnessed three different versions of the wall-crawler come together on the big screen in a massive, unprecedented superhero event. But while Spider-Man: No Way Home was an exhilarating ride that won't leave our minds anytime soon, it also marked the last time we'd see Tom Holland's Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly half a decade. Needless to say, it's been a long wait, but it's finally coming to an end.
Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially underway in anticipation of its release next year. Director Destin Daniel Cretton took the movie's production to the streets of Glasgow to shoot a massive set piece that will involve everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood hero. But while using real-life locations as sets is certainly better than a green screen, it also has one major disadvantage: set photos might give major spoilers away. So, to counteract this potential problem, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day social media team decided to get ahead of the curve and give us a quick look at Spidey's new costume.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser gives us a glimpse of the hero's new suit
Spider-Man: No Way Home concluded with Peter crafting a new costume that is widely considered to be one of the hero's best looks in live-action (if not the second best, just after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit). Because of that, fans wondered if Brand New Day would opt to use that same design, or if it would bring something new to the table to differentiate itself from its predecessors. Well, we finally have an answer.

A short (albeit awesome) teaser highlights Spidey's new costume, which will now have a raised webbing pattern, much like that of Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker. So does that mean this new look will be a complete reinvention? Well, not necessarily. While it might be a bit too early to tell, the slight glimpse of the spider logo in this new suit seems to be identical to the one seen at the end of No Way Home. So there's a slight chance that the raised webbing and different palette of colors will be the only two differences.
Given that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already in full production, it won't be long before we get a full, official reveal of Spidey's new look. But if that wasn't enough, fans of the wall-crawler have been treated to many other exciting surprises on the very first day of filming alone. For starters, it's been heavily speculated that Mister Negative will be the movie's main antagonist, given that the logo of the Inner Demons was spotted on set. Besides, we have an official confirmation of two major MCU comebacks.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Michael Mando will reprise his role as Mac Gargan in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which means Scorpion will finally have his big-screen debut. Furthermore, after months of speculation, it was finally revealed that Mark Ruffalo will come back as Hulk. Besides, it's worth keeping in mind that Jon Bernthal's Punisher will also have a role to play. Needless to say, the wall-crawler's upcoming adventure is shaping up to be a memorable street-level adventure that will make use of many characters from all corners of the MCU, and we couldn't be any more excited.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
