Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader is expected to return to the silver screen in The Batman - Part II. Matt Reeves will return to direct the sequel to the 2022 film, as his Epic Crime Saga shared universe still celebrates from the success of spinoff series The Penguin.

The upcoming movie has suffered a lot of delays in recent years, from the writers’ strike to Tom Cruise and Alejandro G. Iñárritu's project now taking its 2026 spot, which has resulted in the film being pushed to October 2027.

There has been a lot of speculation about the film's villain. Fans have suggested popular antagonists like Clayface and Mr. Freeze. And with The Joker making an appearance at the end of The Batman, he should be in the sequel too. However, according to a new rumor, the villain could be an interesting pick, with a major star potentially in the running to play the role.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington rumored to play Hush in The Batman 2

According to a new report from social media scooper Will-iam Smith, Kit Harington is rumored to be in talks to play Hush in Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II. That's something of an unexpected choice, but it's definitely one that would get people's attention.

Some villains are obsessive, others are haters. Sometimes they’re both. In the case of the latter, we have Thomas Elliot a.k.a. Hush. A character who was demented from the beginning. Sure, his mother was consumed with proving their worth due to their new rich status and his father was drunk and unpleasant; but that wasn’t a reason to try and kill them.

Thomas was furious when Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne, saved his mother’s life and he never forgave him for keeping her alive. You see, he cut the brakes on their car hoping they'd both die but only Roger was killed. And despite being friends with Bruce, when his parents were murdered, Thomas thought “The world is just.”

After killing his mother, Thomas Elliot inherited his family’s wealth, traveled the world, and became a brilliant surgeon. But that wasn’t enough for Thomas. He was still jealous of Bruce Wayne and eventually the Dark Knight. As time went on, Thomas became the Gotham City villain, Hush, and looked at himself as everything Batman isn’t. With the help of Edward Nygma (the Riddler), they set on to give Batman one of the roughest times of his life.

Kit Harington as Hush would be a surprising choice of villain if this report turns out to be true. Yes, Harington was great as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones but the character didn't always challenge him throughout the show's eight-season run. That being said, a character like Hush could absolutely provide him with that challenge. And let's not forget that he's familiar with the world of superheroes, having portrayed Dane Whitman, a.k.a. Black Knight, in Eternals.

Throughout time, actors have excelled with unexpected roles as they head further into their careers. Look at performers like Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, and Cristin Milioti, who evolved throughout their careers and ultimately became award-winning actresses, also renowned for portraying comic book characters (Milioti received awards-buzz for her performance in The Penguin).

Kit Harington being cast as Hush could be the role that evolves his career after Game of Thrones, allowing him to show us new sides of his personality as Thomas Elliot.
