Spider-Man has one of the most iconic rogues' galleries out of any comic book character in existence. Some of the wall-crawler's foes, such as Venom, are lethal anti-heroes with dubious morals. Others, like Kingpin, are relentless mob bosses looking to take over the city. However, there's also the one: That villain who is the most sadistic and relentless out of any Marvel antagonist in existence. We're talking about the offspring of Venom, who was born just to bring suffering and pain to anyone who dares cross his path. The one who reached godhood, and yet still terrifies without it.

Carnage has been killed and reborn before in comic book pages, but the most recent occasion has been completely different. The sadistic symbiote parted ways with Cletus Kasady and was forced to find a new host after a near-mortal injury during the events of Venom War (2024). As simple as that, an unholy alliance was formed between a nearly-dead Eddie Brock and the monster he once swore to destroy. Much to no one's surprise, the relationship between Eddie and the Carnage symbiote hasn't been exactly smooth sailing, as proved by their latest altercation.

Carnage was entrapped and nearly killed by its own host

Eddie Brock: Carnage (2025) started things in the most violent way possible. See, the Carnage symbiote needs to kill and feed on its victims to stay alive. Its host, Eddie Brock, isn't comfortable with this idea, but he needs to cooperate regardless. After all, the two depend on each other for survival, which is why they were forced to find a middle ground. Now they're hunting cold-blooded killers who do more damage than good in the world.

During the first issue of the series, Carnage was hunting an unsuspecting murderer on an airplane. Unfortunately, the prey turned out to be one of he pilots, who sabotaged the aircraft in his final moments of life. Eddie tried to grab and save every single passenger by jumping out and gliding away to safety. But just as he was falling through the air while carrying dozens of people, he mysteriously blacked out. Once Eddie woke up safely in his bed, the Carnage symbiote refused to reveal the fate of all these lives. The parasitic alien has been withholding this information ever since to get the upper hand. However, things would quickly backfire.

During the events of Eddie Brock: Carnage (2025) No. 4, Eddie convinced "his other half" that they would hunt Muse as their next target. The two would then go to one of the killer's warehouses, where many lifeless bodies are found lying around. However, the perpetrator is nowhere to be found at that moment. The Carnage symbiote suggests waiting until Muse returns, but Eddie quickly ignites barrels of gasoline, surrounding the two in a storm of fire. As simple as that, our protagonists find themselves in a stalemate.

The Carnage symbiote is still too weak after being wounded back during the events of Venom War (2024), so any contact with fire would kill it. Unfortunately, this would also bring the death of Eddie Brock—a man who is willing to pay any price to figure out where the survivors of the airplane are. At first, the parasitic alien believes this is nothing but a bluff, but soon he discovers that its story might very well end there and then.

During the last pages of Eddie Brock: Carnage (2025) No. 4, we see that our protagonists made it out alive, but not without first being heavily burned. Fortunately, there's a silver lining: Eddie figured out where Carnage has been keeping the survivors of the plane crash, and he calls the FBI to help with the situation. But will Marvel's most unhinged villain allow dozens of lives to be rescued by the Federals? Well, there's only one way to find out.

Eddie Brock: Carnage (2025) No. 5 will be released on June 11, 2025.
