It's finally time for Interview with the Vampire to return to screens. Except this time it has a new title in The Vampire Lestat - and to say that fans are ready would be an understatement.

During the second season of the AMC series, Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac apologized to each other for their previous actions, including how the essentially sabotaged their own relationship. Louis' trip and apology didn’t come out of nowhere. It comes after Louis learned that Lestat saved his life during his trial in the Vampire court. Something that Armand took credit for. In fact, Armand was going to let Louis die just like he did to Claudia.

Years after the two reconciled, Lestat learns that Daniel Molloy wrote a book on the things that Louis told him during seasons 1 and 2 of Interview with the Vampire (which is also the title of Molloy’s book). Lestat was upset that the book made them (vampires) out to be, as Sam Reid (Lestat) describes it, caricatures. This leads Lestat to attempt to tell his own side of the story the best way he can think of. He’ll go on tour as a rock star and sing his truth.

In the trailer above, you can see that the show will be about more than Lestat’s tour. For the first time this season, we’re going to see what Lestat de Lioncourt was like before he was turned. Despite what you may think, he’s not the confident and smooth vampire that we’ve come to know and love. Among the unbelievable things is that he had a stutter and seems to have been incredibly insecure.

Knowing that there’s more to his story will lead to an interesting season and will further explain why Lestat is the way he is. It will also make Lestat a more well-rounded character. However, in order to know that story, you have to watch season 3 of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire on AMC.

Interview with the Vampire season 3 has a weekly release schedule (with early releases on AMC+)

There will be seven episodes in season 3 of Interview with the Vampire. Each of which will be available on AMC and AMC+. The season premiere debuts on AMC on Sunday, June at 9 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. PT, 8 p.m. CT, and 7 p.m. MT. (while also being available to stream on AMC+ from the beginning of that day).

With that in mind, here is the full release schedule for The Vampire Lestat for US audiences:

  • Episode 1: "Detroit" - Sun, Jun 7, 2026
  • Episode 2: "Toledo" - Sun, Jun 14, 2026
  • Episode 3: "Toronto" - Sun, Jun 21, 2026
  • Episode 4: "The Devil's Road" - Sun, Jun 28, 2026
  • Episode 5: Sun, July 5, 2026
  • Episode 6: Sun, July 12, 2026
  • Episode 7: Sun, July 19, 2026

The seven-episode release pretty much falls in line with previous seasons. The first also boasted seven episodes while the second increased it to eight. The Vampire Lestat is back to the same episode count as the first and that's effectively what we have all come to expect from AMC shows in recent years.

The cable network's TWD Universe spinoffs also feature a similar episode count, with earlier seasons of Daryl Dixon and Dead City (as well as miniseries The Ones Who Live) all having six episodes before then increasing the count to seven or eight in subsequent outings.

As this article is being written, only four episode titles for Interview with the Vampire season 3 have been confirmed, but the rest will be confirmed as and when they are released by the platform.
