Season 4, episode 4 of Invincible was the first episode where the main story was one that wasn’t told in the 144-issue run or any of the tie-ins like Tech Jacket, Capes, or Brit. In this episode, viewers witness the tale of Mark Grayson (Invincible) being summoned to Hell by Damien Darkblood.
One of the first things we learn is that Hell isn’t what humans have been told. For one, it’s called the Under Realm and is deep within the Earth, and it isn’t the place where the dead go to be tortured. It’s actually inhabited by beings from another age (the current age, with humans being the sixth age), and it helps keep a great evil from taking over the world. Yes, it’s run by Satan, but he isn’t a fallen angel because there isn’t a Heaven. Which is a gift and a curse, as viewers are at the end of the episode.
WARNING! SPOILERS FOR INVINCIBLE SEASON 4, EPISODE 4
After Volcanikka is defeated, Satan and Damien Darkblood’s sister say that he’s paid his debt and then some. So rather than keep him in Hell, he returns Darkblood to Earth to be his eyes and ears. Soon after he returns, Satan contacts Damien, saying that Volcanikka is looking to wage war against the surface world. Satan then says to report everything to him. Satan then says, “I feel that there may be a need for my scorched flesh to be kissed by the gentle heat of the sun once more.” To which Darkblood responds, "I was afraid of this.”
It's easy to guess that this means Satan could try to rule Earth. It certainly seems like it, but that may not be the case. Another option is that Damien Darkblood could be worried that a war with the Under Realm against Volcanikka and the surface world could destroy Earth. But Satan taking over is more likely.

It's time, Mark
It isn’t a spoiler that Mark and Oliver will be recruited by their father (Omni-Man) and his bestie, Allen the Alien. But the moment when Mark saw his father (after thinking he was dead) was a heck of a moment. And while it was great in the comics, it was even better on the show.
One of the many things that the show gets right is the score. The music behind each of the scenes elevates the moment by ten. In this case, when Omni-Man and Allen showed up, it perfectly set up the next episode of Invincible and the importance of the Viltrumite War.
The Viltrumite War is a new beginning for Mark, and it was appropriate that he started wearing his yellow costume again. It was a way for him to feel like himself again. However, after the Viltrumite War starts, viewers will see that the change in costume doesn’t mean much. Mark will make good on not hesitating to kill when it comes to revenge and protecting his family.
