The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen may have been thrilling fans since it began, but the anime series' brief hiatus just a few weeks ago has reinvigorated them. It has also allowed the show to fire on all cylinders since its return, producing two phenomenal episodes thus far.
The first half of the season has been titled The Culling Game, Part 1, which is pretty appropriate considering it is adapting the iconic / infamous tale from the manga. As we hurtle towards its midseason finale - and inevitably another hiatus - we can only expect big things from it. And after this week's ninth installment of the season, expectations are high.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 episode 10 is almost upon us (and it is expected to feature a major showdown)
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 episode 10 is released on Thursday, March 12, in the US and across the world (while airing in Japan on Friday, March 13). That is indeed in the show's typical release window, with the schedule picking back up after its one-week hiatus. And it's going to be a banger.
Although Crunchyroll has yet to reveal the official episode title, the tenth installment is expected to adapt the rest of the chapter 167 of the manga, along with chapters 168 - 170. This would, of course, feature the showdown between Megumi Fushiguro and reincarnated sorcerer Reggie Star - which ultimately leads to Fushiguro unveiling his Domain Expansion on his competitor. If you are familiar with the show, Domain Expansions aren't to be trifled with - and neither is Megumi.

Ever since Megumi and Yuji Itadori have crossed into the Tokyo No. 1 Colony barrier, they have been forced into situations that have been extremely high-stakes. From the best friends' separation early on, to getting led astray by warriors attempting to mislead them, (by claiming they knew were the warrior they were looking for really was) they have been trying to get back to each other ever since. This has understandably led to something of a split narrative in recent episodes of the series.
While the ninth episode of the season has featured the long-awaited battle between Yuji and Hiromi Higuruma, the upcoming tenth installment will now show us what Megumi has been up to. And, as fans of the manga can attest to, there have been some pretty high-stakes encounters for him too.
If the show sticks to its source material (which it generally does), the next episode promises to be a big one. And considering that recent episodes of the show have been a little lighter on Megumi content, we'll hopefully get to see Fushiguro get the long overdue spotlight in the upcoming outing.
The Culling Game, Part 1 now enters its final quarter as the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen prepares to take its expected midseason break. Its second cour will then commence later in the year as The Culling Game, Part 2 kicks off, launching a new batch of 12 episodes designed to bring the arc full-circle. With that in mind, you can rest assured that the beloved anime series will be pulling out all the stops to ensure that these next three episodes mirror the heights of the previous three, concluding the first half of the season on a high.
So, once again we must ask: Is it next Thursday, yet?!
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 streams on Crunchyroll in the US each Thursday until the end of March.
