The Justice League is recruiting villains thanks to Superman's disappearance

With Superman gone, the Justice League recruits some unlikely characters to fill the void the Man of Steel left. Among them is an all-new, all-different Harley Quinn.

The final issue of DC K.O. isn’t out yet, but the DC Comics universe has already started moving towards the future after the tournament. For example, in issue No. 13 of Morgan Hampton’s Green Lantern Corps, Jessica Cruz mentions the Heart of Apokalips tournament ending and how they (the Lanterns of the Emotional Spectrum) need to be ready because something is coming. Back on Earth, the Justice League will have to fight harder to protect the Earth with Superman's disappearance. If adding villains to the Justice League is their response, then the world may be in trouble.

Superman is the greatest hero in the DC Comics multiverse. We all love Batman and Wonder Woman, but Kal-El is trusted and revered more than anyone. Apparently, even a seemingly unlimited number of heroes isn't enough to make up for the Man of Steel attributed to the universe. That's why an unlikely group of villains has been recruited.

According to Screen Rant, Cheetah (who recently killed her enslaver), King Shark, Lobo, Starro, Lex Luthor, and Harley Quinn are joining the Justice League. After everything Luthor did in DC K.O., it’s shocking that he’s allowed into the league. However, as I mentioned, Earth needs all the help it can get. Plus, it can't be denied that Luthor will do everything he can to keep the world spinning, even if it's for selfish reasons.

There is a catch with Harley Quinn. After DC K.O., the energy Harley stored up splits her into two halves. Her chaotic side isn’t just joining the DC Comics premiere superhero team. Some of the images show her in a new costume with Batman’s logo on it. Meanwhile, her other side will be a psychiatrist. As of now, who knows what this means except that the DC Comics universe will be wilder than ever.

Amanda Waller no longer running the Suicide Squad hasn’t taken away the need for a band of criminals to work with heroes. It’s not a new concept, but it’s one that people enjoy. Comic book fans will see arguments between teammates that will result in funny moments. Characters who were once thought of as underrated may shine fighting alongside Wonder Woman and the Flash. And, of course, there will be betrayal.

Lastly, don’t be surprised if a lot of Justice League members quit when they realize that Lobo and Starro are their teammates. The League believes in second chances, but people like Green Arrow, Black Canary, and others could look at this as a slap in the face or a blemish on the Justice League name. Regardless of how they feel, it will be good for readers.
