The previous episode of Lanterns finally caught viewers up to 2026 as it began the investigation into Hal Jordan’s murder (which was previously teased in episode 1). Sadly, other than the murderer, John Stewart may have been the last one to see Hal alive. What’s worse is that one of the people in Rushville is prepared to tell Sheriff Kane that she saw John punch Hal if John doesn’t give her reparations (the irony of asking a Black man for reparations is lost on that woman), which will make him a suspect in the investigation.
Thanks to the murder of Hal Jordan, John Stewart was brought back into a life he wanted to leave behind a decade prior. It may have cost him a military contract for him and his brother's panic rooms, and he’s caught up in his family’s drama. Luckily, John is made of steel and can handle it as long as something else crazy doesn’t happen.

Lanterns season 1 episode 7 release time on HBO and HBO Max
Lanterns episode 7 is set to premiere in the US on Sunday, September 27, at 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 8:00 p.m. CT, and 7:00 p.m. MT on both HBO and HBO Max. The will air at the top of the hour on the linear cable network while also being available to stream at the exact same time on the HBO Max streaming service.
Of course, as HBO Max is a worldwide streaming platform, all locations in which the service is available will be able to tune into the next installment of the DC Universe's Lanterns - meaning that DC fans all around the world will be able to watch. What to expect in the next episode of DC's Lanterns
This upcoming episode of Lanterns is the penultimate episode of the season. Since this is a detective and mystery show, everything that happens here will be important to the finale. For example, clues throughout the episode will appear in ways you may not realize and lead viewers to suspect characters they never thought could have killed Hal.
Kerry Kane may say or do something that reveals she killed Hal Jordan. Maybe the reason her son was so nonchalant about things is that he killed him for hurting his mother and indirectly destroying the town. Could there have been another Manhunter in Rushville, and Zoe was the only one who revealed themselves? Let’s also not forget that Sinestro is still in play. While he may not have killed Hal, he could be the key to finding out who did.
All of these are options. What’s even more intriguing is that there’s something or someone no one has thought about who’s the key to it all. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out if that’s the case.
