LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was released to critical and commercial acclaim. Not only do video game players unanimously agree that this is the very best LEGO title released so far and one of the most memorable entries in the Caped Crusader's legacy, but it also sold 1.2 million copies within one week of launch. Needless to say, the 11-year wait for another multiplatform Batman game proved to be worth it (but let's not repeat it again, Warner Bros. Games).

The only downside of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is that it didn't arrive on all major consoles on its initial release date. Nintendo Switch 2 owners initially missed out on the adventure, likely because TT Games needed more time to optimize its latest title so that it could be enjoyed on the go. Worse yet, we didn't know how long we'd have to wait to experience this handheld adventure. But at long last, our days of doing a Batman impression and living in the dark have come to an end.

Mark your calendars, because we know when LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is coming to Nintendo's latest console.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18

On Sept. 18, 2026, video game players worldwide will be able to experience LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight in a whole new way. TT Games' latest adventure is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, and pre-orders are now live.

Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a free, physical minifigure of the Caped Crusader himself wearing the retro Batsuit inspired by his NES game. Additionally, this version of the game will also include access to three cosmetic packs and the upcoming Mayhem Collection DLC, which will allow us to play as The Joker and Harley Quinn.

It's worth noting that the physical versions of the game on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles will contain a game key card. That means the card itself does not have any data in it. Instead, it acts as a "key" that allows you to download the full game from the Nintendo eShop.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a must-play for fans of the character, or anyone who is looking for a memorable superhero title. It tells an original story that's stitched together with some of the hero's most iconic moments across TV series, movies, comic books, and other video games. Furthermore, it has the biggest rendition of Gotham City yet, filled with countless collectibles and secondary missions for players to experience.

There's enough content in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight to warrant over 30 hours of playtime if you're looking to 100% complete the game. Additionally, there is no shortage of cleverly hidden Easter eggs and secrets in every corner of the world. Last, but certainly not least, there are seven different playable (and iconic) characters, each with their own unique gadgets.

Fortunately, it's just a matter of months before we can become the Caped Crusader absolutely everywhere we go. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on Sept. 18, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2.
