In a little over two months, audiences will gather to watch the collapse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. On the one hand, Avengers: Doomsday will be a celebration of all things Marvel-related, bringing together Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the X-Men, New Avengers, and Fantastic Four for the first time in cinematic history. On the other hand, the price of watching all these characters share the screen may be a little too high to pay. That's mostly due to the impending arrival of Doctor Doom—a sorcerer who will stop at nothing to rule over the multiverse as a whole.
The ruler of Latveria has quickly positioned himself as a force to be reckoned with. After all, the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer features a scene of him stopping Thor's Stormbreaker with just two fingers. But while the new Marvel villain in town may be extremely powerful, it is no secret that he'll need help to face the might of dozens of heroes. That's where the Latverian Witches will come in, alongside the Sentinels. But in case that wasn't enough, another group of antagonists has now joined the picture.
New Avengers: Doomsday art gives us our first look at the Doombots
Let's be honest, it wouldn't really be an Avengers movie without an expendable CGI army.
A new wave of Avengers: Doomsday merch and promotional art has been making waves online by unveiling no shortage of surprises. First, an Adidas collaboration seemingly revealed that Deadpool will join the upcoming Marvel crossover. Now, promotional art has given us our first look at Doctor Doom's army of Doombots.

Fans speculated that these relentless robots would make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday—potentially during the third act—and now it has finally been confirmed. In the comic-book world, every Doombot is an exact replica of Victor von Doom's psyche, which is what makes them so dangerous. It remains to be seen whether a similar scenario will unfold in the film, but in any case, we're about to witness the live-action debut of these terrifying creations.
Without diving too much into spoiler territory, it has been reported that the final act of Avengers: Doomsday will take place in Latveria. Moreover, the film's latest promotional art features the Doombots lining up right in front of the villain's throne, which is also located in the fictional country. This would all but confirm that the army of robots will have a key role to play during the movie's third act.
The Latverian Witches could also join the fight against Earth's Mightiest Heroes, particularly the Hulk. After all, one of the post-credits scenes of Avengers Endgame: Encore featured Doctor Doom "collecting" Bruce Banner for unknown purposes, with some rumors suggesting the Green Goliath will have to fight his former colleagues in the upcoming MCU film.
Earth's Mightiest Heroes will have a lot on their plate during the final battle of Avengers: Doomsday, but things could get even worse moving forward. Reports indicate that Avengers: Secret Wars will feature the return of villains we've seen in previous MCU films, with Josh Brolin's Thanos and James Spader's Ultron being the two most likely candidates. So even if the third act of the upcoming MCU crossover is filled with an expendable CGI army, the last-ever project of the Multiverse Saga could opt to do something slightly different.
Now that Avengers: Doomsday is nearly upon us, it will be interesting to see whether Marvel drops a new trailer or perhaps some TV spots that give us our first look at the Doombots in action and fighting against the Avengers. But even if we don't get to see their final design until the release day, it's nice to know the iconic robotic army will be in the film.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18. 2026.
