Marvel's 2025 Disney+ lineup drops as premiere dates for Ironheart, Wonder Man, and more are confirmed
By Cody Schultz
2025 is shaping up to be quite an eventful year for Marvel fans as it seems Marvel Studios is planning on releasing a jam-packed slate of programs in the new year, including both live-action and animated originals.
In a new promo that seems to have arrived on Disney+ prematurely – or perhaps Disney planned to drop a promo that literally confirms its entire 2025 Marvel Studios slate just before midnight on a Tuesday night? – and has since taken the internet by storm, Disney+ teases its upcoming Marvel Studios slate with new dates for projects set to make their way to the streaming platform before the end of 2024 as well as revealing the full lineup of original series coming in 2025.
First, it turns out that Agatha All Along will not be the final Marvel Studios series of 2024 as the third and final season of What If will be premiering on Dec. 22 with Disney+ once again dropping the animated hit before the holiday season. The promo doesn’t reveal the exact release plan for the season so it’ll be interesting to see if Disney+ once again chooses to release episodes daily during the holiday stretch, if episodes will be released weekly, or if the full season will drop on Dec. 22.
Deadpool & Wolverine will also be coming to Disney+ before the end of the year.It will hit Disney+ on November 12, making it a perfect selection heading into the Thanksgiving stretch and giving fans something to be thankful for.
Then comes 2025 and it seems Marvel Studios will have a total of six projects coming to Disney+ across the year – not counting the studio’s theatrical releases which will hit Disney+ as well.
Confirmed to be coming in 2025 are Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, and Wonder Man.
As revealed by the promo, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will kick off 2025 as the first Marvel Studios release of the new year with the animated series premiering on Jan. 25. March 4 will then bring the first live-action show of the year with Daredevil: Born Again, which will lead right into the second live-action series of 2025 with Ironheart set to premiere on June 24.
Following Ironheart, Disney+ will switch over to animated releases with Eyes of Wakanda premiering on Aug. 6 followed by Marvel Zombies in October. Given we know Marvel Zombies will consist of just four episodes, we imagine Marvel will try to time it out so that the finale drops the week of Halloween in taking a similar release plan to what we’ve seen with Agatha All Along ending the week of Halloween 2024.
Closing out the year will be Wonder Man starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II which has been confirmed to release in December 2025. No exact date has been set for the series, but we have to wonder if perhaps the show will kick off early in the month so that the series can begin establishing itself before the holidays arrive. Or perhaps Disney+ will try something different and give the show a holiday premiere in hopes of drumming up additional viewership during a time when many are off work and home for the holidays.
Needless to say, it’s going to be an eventual year for Marvel fans with lots of exciting titles to look forward to across the year and in the closing months of 2024 as well.
