Marvel Comics fans know Luke Cage is powerful (hence the name Power Man). Cage has beaten The Wrecker, who loves to tell people that he has defeated Thor, and has taken on the Avengers by himself. However, he isn’t among the ten strongest characters in Marvel. Considering all of the gods, cosmic beings, and gamma-irradiated characters, it would be shocking if he made it into the Top 20. Like all things in comics, that can change and it did thanks to writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing.
The following events take place in Timeless No. 1 in 2024 by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing with art by Juann Cabal with colors by Edgar Delgado.
In short, after the superheroes of the universe were conquered, Luke Cage was left with the powers of the Hulk, Sentry/Void, and Iron Fist. Yes, that’s overkill, but it was needed. Celestial Khonshu and his avatar Moon Knight (who we find out is Danny Rand) killed all of the heroes except Luke Cage. After defeating them, Cage is transported through time to the past. He now had a chance to prevent his future. That’s where Marvel Comics’ Power Man: Timeless Nos. 1 and 2 comes into play.

Luke Cage’s first mission was to defeat an Inhuman with enough power to destroy entire civilizations named Aeon the Knife. At first, Luke loses. Not because he is overpowered. He was trying not to be violent to spare his opponent and let the Void out. That’s the negative part about the Sentry’s powers; for every good thing he does, The Void does something negative in return. Eventually, Luke lets out the power of The Void and rage of the Hulk and beats his opponent as a result.
That isn’t the end of Luke’s trouble. Mercury was falling into the sun. How does Power Man stop this? He punches the planet in half and reveals that there’s a living brain calling itself the Celestial Mind inside of it. Its first words to our hero are saying it's his brother’s vengeance. And since a giant heart was killed by Aeon the Knife, we’ll have to see if he wants retribution by killing Luke for letting it happen or Aeon for doing the deed.
