3. Deadpool and Wolverine
We all longed for the day that Deadpool would make his arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we had been waiting even longer to see Wolverine do the same. The fact that the chaotic pair did it together is just so perfect - much like Deadpool and Wolverine itself.
There was some trepidation that the maturity of the Deadpool franchise wouldn't fit in to the world of the MCU but it didn't take long for the film to quash those concerns. Ryan Reynolds' Merc With A Mouth was having a blast in the film's opening scene, brutally killing the attacking TVA agents who sought to send him to The Void. Oh yeah, and he did it with the adamantium skeleton of the X-Men franchise's dead Wolverine. As violent and disrespectful as ever, Wade.
The biggest selling-point of the multiversal movie that already had its core audience sold was the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and that was probably the aspect of the film that delivered the most. It overdelivered, as Jackman was in his element again, playing this moody, aggressive alternate version of Wolverine with ease. His return was everything we wanted it to be, and so much more!
Seeing him fighting alongside Deadpool was a sight to behold, especially as he finally got the chance to don the comic-accurate yellow and blue suit. The one-shot fight scene in the film's climax, scored to Madonna's "Like A Prayer" is a truly jaw-dropping moment, but the film's best is undoubtedly the pair's hand-holding attempt to defeat Cassandra Nova and save the multiverse (also scored to Madonna's "Like A Prayer"). A thing of beauty.
