The Marvel Cinematic Universe certainly doesn't shy away from star-power. It's the biggest movie franchise in the world, so why would it? After all, it enhanced the careers of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo, while launching the careers of Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth.

It's also featured established cinematic titans like Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, Michael Keaton, and Ben Kingsley, and more. In recent years, Angelina Jolie and Christian Bale have even joined the fray, showcasing that the franchise is still capable of drawing big names even with the conclusion of its record-breaking Infinity Saga. If you need more proof of that, look no further than next year's Captain America: Brave New World, which will see Harrison Ford make his MCU debut, stepping into the role of President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross after the death of the late, great William Hurt.

There have been reports and rumors that Marvel Studios is interested in adding more acting stars to the franchise in the coming years. One report, however, suggests that the powers that be are also interested in one of the world's biggest music superstars.

Marvel reportedly wants Billie Eilish to play a major MCU role

According to prolific Marvel insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is interested in casting Billie Eilish in a big role in the MCU. The insider acknowledges that it's a "weird" update given that Eilish is one of the world's biggest artists right now but he goes on to say that it is indeed what he heard.

Eilish is a global phenomenon now, and has been for a number of years now. She's known for her hits such as "Bad Guy", "Happier Than Ever", "Everything I Wanted", and the recent "Birds of a Feather". She's also no stranger to big franchises, as she has performed the theme song for James Bond movie No Time To Die and the stunning "What Was I Made For" for the Barbie soundtrack - both of which earned her Academy Award wins.

Eilish has acting experience outside of music, too, as she played the character of Eva in Amazon Prime Video miniseries Swarm. While joining a franchise like the MCU would certainly be a much bigger step into the acting sphere, especially if Marvel Studios wants her to play a big role as that could very well lead to involvement in more than just one project, there is no doubt that she'd be more than capable of pulling it off and impressing audiences.

As for who she could play, fans are speculating that it might be beloved X-Men character Rogue. And if that were the case, it would signify that the rumors of the mutants' arrival to the franchise are potentially true. It would also be a heck of an opportunity for Eilish, because Rogue is one of the most popular members of the X-Men, and fans have been waiting a long time to see her make her MCU debut.

Ironically, this isn't the first time that Eilish has been associated with the MCU. It's not even the first time she's been associated with the MCU this month. Marvel Television's Agatha All Along featured the singer's song "you should see me in a crown" during its fifth episode in one of the show's most pivotal moments involving Joe Locke's character Teen.

Needless to say, having Billie Eilish join the MCU would be a huge deal. This report comes just months after rumors that the studio was looking to find a way to have Taylor Swift play a major role in the franchise too. Two of the biggest music superstars in the world in the biggest movie franchise in the world would definitely be a welcome opportunity for all involved. It also be welcomed by the vast majority of fans too.

These potential music/Marvel crossovers are unexpected, but the idea of them is very exciting.
