Just when audiences think the story is over and there's nothing left in store, an unexpected sequence plays after the credits roll to tease a major storyline to follow. As was to be expected, the latest release in the superhero giant's franchise keeps the streak going.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is nearly here, and a lucky few already watched the film during its premiere on Jul. 28, 2026, which means spoilers are starting to make their way online. It all started when songwriter and singer Steve Lacy revealed who the film's main antagonist is. Furthermore, things didn't get any better as the Spider-Man: Brand New Day post-credits scene was leaked ahead of time and published online for the whole world to see.
Of course, the videos have been met with DMCA takedowns by Sony. However, they were up long enough for plenty of fans to watch them, and let's just say reactions are mixed, at best.

Furthermore, renowned insider and scooper Daniel Richtman doubled down on this idea by stating, "Do NOT stay until after the credits for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It's not worth it." Movie critic Peter Howell shared the sentiment as he claims that the post-credits scene of the latest MCU movie is "pointless."
On the other side of the coin, fans who have seen the leaked scene seem to be very excited about what the MCU is trying to set up with this sequence. Account The Cinematic Lab replied to one of the leaks, stating: "That end-credits tease has me locked in for Spider-Man: Brand New Day too. The anticipation is building fast." Additionally, user Talha claims that fans should "Stay for the post credits" as they "won't be disappointed."
It's worth pointing out that there was no mention of a mid-credits scene for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Granted, there could be a slight chance that Marvel decided to remove a potential mid-credits scene specifically for press screenings in an attempt to try to preserve the surprise until the release day. However, the most likely scenario is that the upcoming superhero project will make history by being the first Spidey movie in the MCU without a mid-credits and a post-credits scene.
Now that spoilers are on the loose, it's best to refrain from social media in case you don't want any surprises ruined. So far, two big spoilers have already made their way online, but it wouldn't be surprising if more were to come over the following days. On the bright side, we don't have to wait long to watch the movie for ourselves and discover why there have been a lot of mixed reactions about the post-credits scene.
Fortunately, critics agree that the rest of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is an absolute blast, as the film delivers a more mature take on the character that also brings him back to his roots. Tom Holland's performance as Peter Parker has received universal praise, and swinging sequences also seem to be a complete standout.
