It is no secret that the multiverse is collapsing. After the events of movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Marvels, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it's clear that something catastrophic is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Incursions between different worlds are bound to happen, and it will be up to Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men to save reality as a whole. But while all eyes are currently set on Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, we need to ask ourselves: What will happen after the dust has settled and Doctor Doom isn't too much of a problem anymore?
Little is officially known about the MCU's next saga. It has been confirmed that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is working on an X-Men movie, prompting fans to believe that the mutants will have a key role moving forward. Aside from that, there have been reports that movies like Black Panther 3, The Fantastic Four 2, and Doctor Strange 3 are in development, but nothing is set in stone just yet. However, our days of living in the dark might be coming to an end, as an iconic Marvel actor teased he's writing a new installment in a saga fans are all too familiar with.

Ryan Reynolds confirms Deadpool 4 is being written
It's time for Wade Wilson to give his maximum effort once again. During an interview with Today, Ryan Reynolds revealed that he's writing a new Deadpool movie, and if it ever comes to be, it will be a team-up adventure yet again:
"I have some stuff kind of written (...) I think he’s a supporting character. He’s a guy that is great in a group."
This isn't the first time we've heard about Deadpool 4 being one of the first movies to release after the Multiverse Saga comes to an end. After all, scoopers Cryptic HD QUALITY and Jeff Sneider claimed that Wade Wilson's upcoming adventure will start production after the release of Avengers: Secret Wars.

At this point, it is all but confirmed that we'll see more of the Merc With a Mouth soon. After all, his last film surpassed the one billion mark at the box office. Moreover, mutants will be at the forefront of the MCU moving forward. As such, it makes sense for Marvel to try to capitalize on the character's popularity, especially to launch the MCU's Phase 7. The only question remaining is: Who else is set to join him in his upcoming adventure?
Renowned insider Daniel Richtman revealed that the Deadpool 4 lineup could consist of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Cable, and Storm (though it wasn't specified which actors might portray the latter two characters). Furthermore, the same source also claimed that Logan is bound to have his own solo movie, doubling down on the idea that the Mutant Saga is upon us.
Marvel has three unannounced films scheduled to be released in 2028: one in May, one in July, and the last in December. Granted, this doesn't mean all three projects will see the light of day. After all, it is a common practice for Disney to hold onto certain dates, only to remove them from the schedule as we get closer to them. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has stated that the intention is to release at least two films a year moving forward. With that in mind, there's a chance that Deadpool 4 could hit theaters as early as May 2028.
Now that it has been confirmed that Marvel will have a Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the superhero giant could take fans by surprise by giving us a glimpse of what's to come after Earth's Mightiest Heroes have finally assembled. With a bit of luck, not only is the next MCU phase confirmed to center around mutants, but Deadpool 4 will be unveiled as well. Meanwhile, let's hope that Wade Wilson shows up to help (or fight) Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Doomsday.
