Marvel star pulls off the most unexpected crossover with DC Comics hero

Deadpool and Wonder Woman teaming up to save Christmas wasn’t exactly on our radar for 2024, but if there is one thing that The Merc with a Mouth has taught us it’s that we should always expect the unexpected as there’s nothing Marvel Jesus can’t do it seems!
Ryan Reynolds has truly upped the ante with his annual holiday video in support of SickKids Foundation, enlisting help from Deadpool, Kidpool, and Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter!
In the hilarious new spot, Deadpool and Kidpool team up to eliminate sick kids… or rather, eliminate the sickness the kids are facing by helping to encourage donations for The Hospital for Sick Children. Of course, as two R-rated heroes, they need a bit of help in spreading Christmas cheer which comes in the form of a “seriously wonderful woman.”
As Deadpool and Kidpool ask Carter to “do the thing,” she begins her iconic Wonder Woman spin transformation… but things don’t exactly go as planned. Rather than donning her iconic Wonder Woman suit and Lasso of Truth, Carter winds up the now infamous Ugly Sweater as Deadpool calls out the DC Lawyers for being behind the failed transformation – more specifically, the same guy that got Cavill and that other Batman.
So while we might not have gotten to see Wonder Woman in all her glory teaming up Deadpool to save Christmas, only Ryan Reynolds would be able to pull off a Marvel-DC holiday crossover like this to break the internet for a good cause.
Reynolds truly never fails to surprise us with the lengths he’ll go to help make a real difference in the world and he’s definitely outdone himself with this year’s SickKids fundraising campaign, but the campaign spot is just the beginning. In addition to bringing Marvel and DC fans the crossover moment between Deadpool and Wonder Woman, Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively are going to match all donations pledged before December 24 to SickKidsSweaterLove.ca up to $500,000!
The only downside of this new campaign is that it seems the spot was the holiday project Reynolds was filming when he teased some Deadpool holiday content on social media.
As fans will recall, Reynolds had Marvel fans in a frenzy when he posted a video on his Instagram Stories rocking the Deadpool suit as snow came falling down. Fans immediately speculated that he was filming the rumored Deadpool Disney+ holiday special which is said to be in the works, but it seems he was likely shooting the campaign video instead.
That doesn’t mean the rumored Deadpool holiday special might not still happen, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing a Deadpool holiday special landing on Disney+ anytime soon.
