With the Multiverse Saga back on track, Marvel Studios is pulling out all the stops to ensure that the second half of the story that it's telling is as gripping as the conclusion to the Infinity Saga. To ensure that, we have two more Avengers movies on the way, a Spider-Man film, a new Captain America movie, the Fantastic Four's debut, returning cast members and so much more.

But it's also looking ahead, seeing what's coming after the multiversal arc comes to a close. We know the X-Men are on the horizon, and we know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue to evolve so that it can tell its next story. To do that, it will need new blood; both in the form of new talent and veterans of the industry who have yet to make an appearance in the MCU.

It sounds like the studio is well aware of that, as a recent report claims that its fearless leader had a meeting with one of the biggest, well-known talents in Hollywood today; one that just so happens to be all-too familiar with the superhero genre.

Robert Pattinson meets with Marvel's Kevin Feige, according to report

The Dark Knight may be making his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near-future. According to veteran industry insider Daniel Richtman, Robert Pattinson has had a meeting with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about a possible role in the MCU. Though the report didn't reveal any details as to whether they managed to settle on any potential character for him to play, it goes without saying that getting Pattinson in the franchise would be a major win for Marvel.

A huge star for over 15 years now, Pattinson first became an established name in Hollywood for playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies. He then went on to reset his career as the face of multiple thought-provoking, thrilling, cinematic spectacles that garnered acclaim and attention, including The Lighthouse and Christopher Nolan's Tenet. He then donned the most iconic cape and cowl in the world, starring as the title character in Matt Reeves' The Batman, earning acclaim for his nuanced, brooding take on the character. He's set to reprise the role of Batman in the film's 2026 sequel.

With Pattinson's career trajectory ensuring he has remained one of the most relevant performers in Hollywood today, the thought of him joining the MCU is very exciting. The Marvel universe is full of potential characters for him to play that have not yet appeared in the franchise, and fans have already begun speculating as to which one the actor could portray if he makes his presence felt on the saga.

While many fans put forward theories surrounding various Marvel characters such as Molecule Man and Nightcrawler, the fan-favorite choice that popped up many times was Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops. The official leader of the X-Men in the comics, Cyclops is a loyal teammate and unwavering supporter of Professor Charles Xavier, and it's easy to imagine Pattinson turning in a performance with that level of commitment needed to bring the character to life.

Whether that fan-casting comes to fruition or not, there is a strong possibility that Cyclops could become a role that is up-for-grabs in the near-future. Marvel Studios is currently laying the groundwork for the arrival of the X-Men, and there is a movie about the Mighty Mutants in development, so it likely won't be too long before we start hearing about castings for Scott Summers (and the rest of the iconic team of heroes).

There is no doubt that Pattinson would do a great job in the role if he were the one to be cast, and the thought of Cyclops' arrival in the MCU is extremely exciting. But regardless of who he would hypothetically play, there is no doubt that the franchise would be all the better off for having another actor of his caliber be a part of it.
