Marvel's Multiverse Saga has been infamous for not following up on a lot of its planned storylines. Perhaps the biggest example is when Kang's arc was dropped in favor of introducing Doctor Doom as the franchise's new main antagonist. Moreover, major heroes debuted in their standalone projects only to never be seen again, while projects like Armor Wars or Blade were ultimately canceled. However, one specific story stood the test of time—acting as the first entry in the Multiverse Saga in 2021 and slowly unraveling over the years until this very day.
The WandaVision trilogy has been a key entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, we're about to witness the culmination of this tale of grief and loss with the release of VisionQuest. A new iteration of the heroic android will jump back into action as he attempts to reconnect with the memories of his predecessor. Unfortunately, this task will prove more complicated than originally anticipated, especially since he'll have to go toe-to-toe with Ultron and a brand-new MCU villain.
New VisionQuest trailer unveils first look at Jocasta Pym
Who said androids couldn't love? In the comic books, Jocasta Pym is a highly advanced automaton created by Ultron himself, designed to be his bride. However, the villain's plan did not go as intended, as Jocasta eventually defied her maker's wishes and instead joined the Avengers. Now, we're about to witness the character's live-action debut in VisionQuest, as revealed in a new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ show.
James Spader's Ultron had one goal in mind when he was first created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner back in 2015: to achieve global peace by eradicating humankind and starting anew with a more advanced form of life. Now he'll attempt to "finish what he started all those years ago," and that's likely how Jocasta Pym will come into the picture.
Interestingly, it appears Ultron's second chance at creating a follower who shares his ideals will work better than the first. After all, Jocasta can be seen fighting Vision at the 2:18 mark in the new VisionQuest trailer, suggesting she will initially be an antagonist. Fortunately, it's likely that her time as a villain won't last long. Much like in the source material, Jocasta could eventually rise against her maker and aid Earth's Mightiest Heroes in saving the multiverse.

Interestingly, industry insiders have claimed that VisionQuest will be pivotal in setting up a Young Avengers / Champions team. While Jocasta hasn't been a member of the Young Avengers in the comics, the MCU could take a few creative liberties when crafting her story. After all, she will likely know Speed and Wiccan by the end of VisionQuest, meaning there would be less setup needed to bring these characters together (with a couple of extra additions) in one superhero group.
Jocasta isn't the only debuting character who can be spotted in the latest VisionQuest trailer. During a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment at the 1:42 mark, audiences can spot Jim Hammond's Human Torch in Vision's mind palace. The hero's suit was first spotted as an Easter egg in Captain America: The First Avenger. However, VisionQuest will mark the very first time we'll see him in action (although it remains unclear how big a role he will have).
Another interesting tidbit in the latest VisionQuest trailer is the confirmation that Wanda Maximoff is, in fact, dead. While Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness suggested as much, many fans believed that maybe there was a way in which she could've saved her life just a second before being crushed under rubble. After all, audiences never saw the witch's corpse in the MCU film. But while all signs seem to suggest she's currently dead, multiple rumors indicate Wanda will be back in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, so it will be interesting to see how she comes back to life.
It isn't long now before we witness the conclusion of the WandaVision trilogy, along with the debut of Jocasta Pym and Jim Hammond. And with a bit of luck, the upcoming Disney+ show will also give us a hint as to how Wanda will return to the MCU.
VisionQuest will be released on October 14, 2026.
