Since 2019, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building an interconnected multiversal narrative across different projects. Now, after much preparation and setup, this tale will reach its final beat with the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. But before Earth's Mightiest Heroes take over the big screen and fight for the fate of reality as a whole, we have one more project left to witness: VisionQuest.
The upcoming Disney+ series will serve as the final chapter in the WandaVision trilogy—a tale of grief and loss that has been five years in the making. After Wanda held an entire town captive in hopes of living a normal life with her family, Agatha made her grand entrance and traversed the Witches' Road with the Scarlet Witch's son, Billy Maximoff. Now, it is nearly time to see Vision meet Tommy Maximoff and learn yet again what it means to be a hero.
VisionQuest is just around the corner. But before the former Avenger steals the spotlight on October 14, 2026, Marvel made one last wave of announcements at one of the biggest events of the year.

Marvel reveals new VisionQuest details at New York Comic-Con 2026
Marvel hosted a Television and Animation panel at New York Comic-Con, where fans got exclusive previews and news about upcoming Disney+ shows. Along with Daredevil, Vision was the only Marvel hero confirmed to have his own live-action series, so it was all but a given that we'd get a small glimpse behind the curtain of VisionQuest. Fortunately, that's exactly what happened.
Marvel released a new VisionQuest trailer, and it gives us a better look at all the Artificial Intelligences set to take over the spotlight. Since many events in the show will take place within Vision's head, we'll see characters like Jarvis, Ultron, DUM-E, U, and more in human forms. They will all help this new iteration of Vision reconnect with the memories of his predecessor, who was regarded as a big hero.
Vision will not only struggle to understand who he was, but he will also need to accept his new role as a father. Just as Billy Maximoff made his big debut in Agatha All Along, Tommy will run onto the stage in VisionQuest. The latest trailer teases that the young hero's dynamic with his father will be at the center of the Disney+ show. Similarly, the relationship between Ultron and his creation, Vision, will also be a key plot point.
While Ultron is set to be the big bad of VisionQuest, he won't be the only villain who will terrorize the former Avenger. The trailer also gives us a better look at Jocasta Pym—Ultron's latest creation. Since 2015, the robotic villain has had one goal in mind: to eradicate mankind and replace it with a more "evolved" form of life. Vision was originally designed to oppose humanity, yet the hero refused. Now, it seems Ultron will try to finish what he started. Fortunately, Jocasta Pym also turns into a superhero in the comic book world, so it will be interesting to see whether we'll witness a similar scenario on the small screen.
Marvel didn't come empty-handed to New York Comic-Con. The studio showcased the opening episode of VisionQuest to attendees, and there's a lot to break down. But before we begin, consider this an official warning: There will be mild spoilers for VisionQuest ahead. If you don't want any surprises ruined, it's best to turn away now.
In an attempt to reconnect with who he was, Vision moves to Edinburgh, where he once lived with Wanda to escape the Sokovia Accords. Moreover, he got a job in a pub he frequented with his former love. If you've seen the WandaVision trailers, chances are that you have noticed a scene where Vision looks at the initials "W + V" carved into a wooden table. Well, that scene takes place in that very same pub.
During a conversation with the pub owner, Vision reveals Wanda Maximoff's true fate by stating that she was "killed by the weight of a mountain." The advanced android tends to retreat into his own mind, inside a white surreal mansion where we'll see physical and human manifestations of many Artificial Intelligences that have shaped the MCU. This is so Vision can get a better understanding of human behavior and how to fit into society.
In his mind, Vision visits a theater where he replays many memories of his predecessor, trying to analyze his past behavior and how to become a better "person." However, he refuses to revisit the events of WandaVision. It's clear Vision is not only grieving, but he's not in the best mental state either.
The rest of the episodes showcased Vision fighting a new mysterious enemy who's contracted by an even more mysterious client. Furthermore, we catch up with Tommy Maximoff, who still has memories of the events of Westview. The episode culminated with Vision learning that he has a son, Tommy, although he isn't sure how that is possible given that his two kids are supposed to be gone.
On the bright side, it won't be long before we finally figure out for ourselves what surprises Marvel has prepared with VisionQuest.
The first two episodes of VisionQuest will be released on Oct. 14, 2026.
