There's only one project separating us from watching Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble on the big screen once more, and that is VisionQuest. The upcoming Disney+ series will act as the culmination of the WandaVision trilogy, which began when the Scarlet Witch took an entire town hostage in an attempt to live a normal life with the love of her life and two kids. Agatha then took the spotlight in Agatha All Along, where she reunited with Wanda's son, Billy Maximoff. The unlikely duo then embarked on a mission to find the missing Maximoff brother, Tommy, and their search may soon pay off.

VisionQuest could be a pivotal project for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. Not only will it showcase Vision reuniting with his son, Tommy Maximoff, but multiple reports suggest the series will be a stepping stone for the Young Avengers / Champions to finally assemble on screen. Furthermore, VisionQuest is the last project to be released before Avengers: Doomsday, which could suggest it will have a big role in setting up the events of the upcoming crossover. Fortunately, the show's release schedule means we won't have to wait multiple weeks to experience all the surprises Marvel has in store for us.

VisionQuest will have many weekly two-episode releases

VisionQuest will have eight episodes, but audiences won't have to wait eight weeks to watch them all. After all, the first three weeks will feature two-episode releases each. By November 11, the show will have come to an end, and audiences will be officially ready to watch Avengers: Doomsday.

For reference, here's the full VisionQuest release schedule:

  • October 14: Episodes 1–2
  • October 21: Episodes 3–4
  • October 28: Episodes 5–6
  • November 4: Episode 7
  • November 11: Episode 8

This schedule is a little unconventional for an MCU Disney+ series. Daredevil: Born Again season 1 kicked things off with a double-episode premiere, while other shows might also have another double-episode release hidden somewhere in between the season's run. There has also been the complete opposite scenario in which Marvel releases all episodes of a show at once, much like what happened with Echo. However, these are completely uncharted waters.

To make things more interesting, the episode runtimes are also unlike any other show. According to industry reports, only three episodes will be under 50 minutes long, with episode seven and the big finale being over one hour long:

  • Episode 1: 53 minutes
  • Episode 2: 45 minutes
  • Episode 3: 52 minutes
  • Episode 4: 48 minutes
  • Episode 5: 46 minutes
  • Episode 6: 54 minutes
  • Episode 7: 1 hour and 2 minutes
  • Episode 8: 1 hour and 8 minutes

The WandaVision trilogy has been one of the only successful new "franchises" within the MCU during the Multiverse Saga. With that in mind, it makes sense that Marvel wants to dedicate as much time as possible to wrapping up the trilogy on a high note. Besides, if VisionQuest really does set up a Young Avengers / Champions crossover, it comes as no surprise that its episode runtimes are a little longer than usual. That's without taking into account the reports that suggest the show will finally reunite the Maximoff brothers (which is sure to take a lot of screen time).

Hopefully, the number of episodes and the runtime of each one mean Marvel has plenty of time to tell one large, cohesive story that doesn't end with any major loose ends. And if there are plot points that aren't resolved, chances are they will be picked up in Avengers: Doomsday later this December.

VisionQuest will be released on Oct. 14, 2026.
