Throughout the history of Marvel video games, we've seen plenty of exciting releases featuring ambitious team-ups such as Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Marvel's Midnight Suns, or Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. However, we've never seen separate titles that built toward an interconnected narrative, similar to what the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done with its many films and TV shows for nearly two decades now. On the big screen, we see characters from different projects come together in the Avengers crossover projects. But while a similar experience is still missing in the video game world, it may not be for long now.
Insomniac Games has worked on two different superhero franchises over the last decade: Marvel's Spider-Man, whose first title was released in 2018, and Marvel's Wolverine, whose only installment so far hit shelves on Sep. 15, 2026. These two sagas take place on Earth-1048, meaning Peter Parker could eventually cross paths with James Howlett. Better yet, there are plenty of Easter eggs and references in Marvel's Wolverine that hint this could be the case.
But before we begin, it's important to establish two things: First and foremost, there won't be any story spoilers here, but some in-game locations will be revealed. Secondly, these Easter eggs are from the first 15 hours of the game. If there are any other Spider-Man references hidden in the very final missions (which the author still hasn't played), we'll make sure to add them to this article. So without further ado, here's every Spider-Man Easter egg hidden in Insomniac's latest video game.
There are references to Silver Sable, J. Jonah Jameson, Spider-Man, and more in Marvel's Wolverine
Perhaps one of the most common ways in which Insomniac references other heroes is through buildings. That held true for Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4, where you could find the Avengers Compound, the Sanctum Sanctorum, and the Baxter Building, among others. Now history has repeated itself in Marvel's Wolverine. While exploring the city of Madripoor, fans will be able to spot the headquarters of Silver Sable International.
Silver Sable was a major character in Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4, especially during the DLC expansion The City That Never Sleeps. While she was born in Symkaria, it's clear that sometimes shady operations have a bit more chance of thriving in Madripoor. Speaking of which, you can also spot a Fisk building in the same city-state:
For the time being, Wilson Fisk remains incarcerated in the Raft after the events of Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4. However, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales made it very clear that he's still able to run his usual operations while behind bars, explaining why his company is still active around the world.
During the events of Marvel's Wolverine, players will eventually visit the streets of Japan, where they will be able to spot a Roxxon Power building. If you get close to it, Logan will even say something along the lines of "I wonder if that guy is still in jail."
This voiceline is a reference to the events of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, where the leader of Roxxon, Simon Krieger, claimed to have cracked the code behind unlimited clean energy... only for the wall-crawler to find out this new power source was a health hazard. And while we're on the topic of Spider-Man-related structures in Japan, you can also see an Alchemax building towering in the background:
Alchemax is best known for its influence in the Spider-Man 2099 comic books. Interestingly, video game outlet MP1st has reported that Insomniac Games plans to include Miguel O'Hara (aka Spider-Man 2099) in one of its future projects, potentially Marvel's Spider-Man 3. So this Alchemax Easter egg could be a sign of major things to come.
Perhaps the most direct reference to Marvel's Spider-Man hidden in Logan's latest adventure is the inclusion of a J. Jonah Jameson autobiography, which can be spotted in Team X's headquarters:
Amusingly enough, J. Jonah himself claims his latest book, "My Life in Words," is "probably the most important autobiography of all time," which is very fitting for the character. And while we're on the note of books, you can also spot a publication titled "Along Came a Spider," with the Spider-Man logo on it:
While it's incredibly difficult to make out, you can actually see the book's blurb, which reads: "A unique noir crime story told exclusively from the viewpoint of a tough-as-nails arachnid detective. Can any criminal hope to escape his web of sticky justice?"
If this premise sounds familiar, it is because it could be referencing the events of either the Spider-Man Noir comic series or Amazon and Sony's Spider-Noir TV series.
If you've watched Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, you're probably aware of the iconic Peter Parker line: "Pizza time." Well, Insomniac is not only well aware of this dialogue as well, but they also included it as the title of a cookbook. Interestingly, there's also another book near it titled "Venomous Creatures," with a purple font that looks very reminiscent of the Lethal Protector himself.
Last but certainly not least, eagle-eyed players will also spot a small card that reads "Spider's Web" in Tyger Tiger's bar on Madripoor. It's a small Easter egg, but one that could be referencing the Web of Life and Destiny in Spider-Man comic books (or, you know, just the wall-crawler himself).
While Peter Parker and Miles Morales don't make an appearance in Marvel's Wolverine, it's clear these two video game franchises are definitely connected. Furthermore, Insomniac's latest title also features references to other iconic Marvel characters such as Daredevil, Elektra, Gambit, Nick Fury, Savage Land, Dazzler, Cyclops, and more. Hopefully, this is an indication that the franchise will grow even further. One day, we could even see a big crossover project between some of these characters.
