Apple TV is slowly becoming one of the most reliable streaming services around. Part of that is due to the consistency of shows like Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which always produces flawless episodes - and that’s without relying on Godzilla or Kong to show up too often. Season 2’s premiere episode proved that the streak of great episodes will continue.
The second season continues to bounce back and forth between the past and present to tell the story of more than Monarch’s beginning. In the present, Cate, Kentaro, and Hiroshi Randa take a chance to save Lee Shaw from Axis Mundi. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 episode 2, titled "Resonance", is expected to premiere in the US on Thursday, March 5, at 9:00 p.m. ET, 6:00 p.m. PT, 7:00 p.m. MT, and 8:00 p.m. CT.
Although the show is technically advertised as releasing new episodes on Fridays, Apple TV, like Prime Video, is the Wild West. Schedules may change due to any number of things, and with Apple TV, that means releasing new episodes the night before in the US. Now that Titan X has escaped, Cate, Kentaro, Hiroshi, and Dr. Keiko Miura will have to live with the consequences of their actions. Rescuing Lee was a noble quest, but it put the world in danger. It’s easy to guess that episode 2 will likely begin with someone being killed by Titan X to show how devastating it is and why the heroes shouldn't have jumped straight into saving Lee without a stronger plan.
Deputy director of Monarch, Natalia Verdugo, paid the price of their actions when she was killed in the season premiere. The protagonists now have to live with their actions, all while knowing that Kong is angry at them too - evidenced by that intense glare the Eighth Wonder of the World delivered in their direction when he couldn't stop Titan X from escaping into the sea.
Back in the past, Lee, Bill, and Dr. Keiko Miura will learn more about Titan X and why the people on the Chilean island of Santa Soledad worship it like a god. It’s already established that they take its existence seriously enough to get its symbol tattooed on their bodies and kill someone if they feel their god is being disrespected.
