To say that My Hero Academia has taken the world by storm over the past decade would be a major understatement. The beloved anime series is based on the beloved manga of the same name, bringing Izuku Midoriya (a.k.a. Deku) and his story to the screen for the first time back in 2016 - and it has enjoyed an incredible run since then, running for eight spectacular seasons.

Although the eighth and final season aired on our TV screens back in 2025, the series will return for a special final episode titled "More". It is set to adapt the epilogue of the manga - which was intentionally left out of the final season and serve as the conclusion to the overall series. And, based on its synopsis, it will serve as something of a "Where are they now?" kind of adventure. With that, here's when you can expect it.

What to expect in the My Hero Academia finale

"More" serves many purposes. It's a bonus episode for My Hero Academia season 8, it's the official series finale of the show itself, and it's an epilogue to the main story, catching us up with our heroes eight years after the events of the previous season 8 finale. It also adapts Chapter 431 of the original manga and adapts the story of Deku and his classmates as they navigate a peaceful world in the aftermath of the Final War eight years earlier. Somewhere along the line, Deku became a teacher at U.A. High School, meaning that he gets to pass his knowledge, expertise, and life experience onto a new generation.

The special episode will have the typical 30-minute runtime, which means it's going to have a tall task ahead of it to wrap up each character's arc in a meaningful way, but there is no doubt that this series is capable of that. And it goes without saying that longtime fans of the show - those who have and haven't read the manga - are excited to see how the story of the TV series comes to a close.

My Hero Academia celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, so it's pretty fitting that the anime goes out with a Special Episode designed to all fans to look back on the beginning while celebrating the conclusion. That's pretty heroic in and of itself.
