New report reveals Bullseye's future after Daredevil: Born Again season 2

After Bullseye is done terrorizing (or helping?) Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, it seems he'll move on to a very different mission.

There are many things to praise about Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 1, but perhaps the very best sequence was its nerve-wracking ending. For a moment, it seemed that Matt Murdock had met a dead end. A small distraction was more than enough for him to be overpowered by many members of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, who quickly unmasked him and discovered his secret identity. But before all hell broke loose, Bullseye quickly took down every corrupt cop in the room and left behind a very interesting note: "You're welcome." That's right, the villain we all love to hate is helping the good guy of this tale.

Bullseye's arc in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be all about redemption... or at least, his own twisted version of it. Ever since the events of Netflix's Daredevil Season 3, Benjamin Poindexter has been looking for a "North Star" to guide him and act as his mentor.

Unfortunately, Wilson Fisk was the one to fill that role, and after a lot of manipulation, the Bullseye we know was born. Now, it seems that Poindexter wants to follow Daredevil's lead and hunt the man who has been ruling the city. But what will happen after the dust has settled? Well, we finally have an answer.

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine might recruit Bullesye after the events of Daredevil: Born Again season 2

According to reliable insider Alex Perez, there is a very high chance that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine will recruit Bullseye for future missions in the MCU. She could take advantage of the fact that Benjamin is still looking for a North Star to guide him by becoming his next mentor. This could suggest that we're about to witness a new (and proper) ensemble of the Thunderbolts in the near future.

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is a master manipulator who uses superpowered beings for her own benefit. Just last year, she sent agents like Yelena Belova and John Walker to destroy incriminating evidence that could get her deposed from her position as the head of the CIA. While her original intention was to get rid of her pawns after they completed their mission, they instead joined forces and were branded the New Avengers.

There's only one problem: this new ensemble is now at the center of the public media's attention, which means Valentina won't be able to send them on shady missions anymore. However, she now knows that it's more efficient for multiple individuals to be working together towards the same goal as opposed to assigning that same responsibility to just one solitary soldier. With that in mind, could a new initiative be born?

Valentina Allegra de Fontaine could very well steal the "Thunderbolts" name from Yelena and create her new, evil version of the team, much like in comic book pages. This new ensemble would be made of even more unstable super soldiers, and that's exactly where Bullseye could come in.

Interestingly enough, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine was name-dropped in the opening episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Furthermore, it is heavily implied that Matthew Lillard's character, Mr. Charles, works for her and the CIA. That means the artillery weapons Fisk was attempting to smuggle were for Valentina, and now it's a matter of figuring out what she needs them for.

With Mr. Charles directly involved in the story, he could very well witness Bullseye's abilities firsthand and let his boss know that the deranged villain could be a valuable asset. From that point onwards, the rest will be history.

Granted, it's important to take any rumor with a grain of salt, but Marvel has been pretty faithful to the source material when it comes to the street-level characters, with rumors even suggesting that we'll see Luke Cage become New York City's mayor in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. As such, it definitely seems like a big possibility that Bullseye will join the Thunderbolts moving forward. Hopefully, it won't be long before we finally find out.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
