The Arrowverse was a major step forward for the superhero genre as it was the first time in decades that multiple superheroes would star in and headline their own successful TV shows. It was even more revolutionary because all of heroes who did appear in these shows existed within the same shared universe, allowing for TV crossovers in the same way that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was able to engineer on the big screen.

Arrow started the trend when it debuted on The CW in 2012 and it was joined by The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, and (kind of) Superman and Lois. Over the course of the decade that these shows aired, they brought to life some of the most iconic DC storylines via crossover adaptations. They also crafted some of their own compelling storylines - one that would have been every bit as at home in the pages of DC Comics.

That said, there were also some less-than-stellar storylines that left fans feeling a range of emotions (including but not limited to feelings of emptiness and outrage). So, taking that into account, let's look back at DC TV's decade of dominance and reflect on some of its storyline missteps.
