10 most disliked superhero movies of all time, ranked
1. Justice League
Never has there been a more disappointing superhero movie, never has there been a bigger failure than Justice League. The movie that was meant to be the DC Extended Universe's crowning jewel had become its darkest day.
Joss Whedon took over as director from Zack Snyder (who had stepped away due to a family tragedy) and completely redesigned the movie, rewriting parts of the script and recutting much of the movie Snyder had already made. The result was hideous.
Suddenly, Justice League became a mismatch of two very different styles, with Snyder's broody Batman cracking unfunny jokes, some very dated humor, and some of the worst CGI cinema has ever seen all taking away from what should have been a home run for the DCEU. To call Justice League a disaster would be a understatement; it was a flat, soulless movie, lacking emotional heart as it flowed from one bland beat into the next. There was a good movie in there, but it had been gutted and all that was left was an outline. A bad one.
Zack Snyder's Justice League was released four years later and it was a huge improvement over the theatrical edition, showcasing what the movie could - and should - have been. But the damage to the DCEU had unfortunately been done at that point, as the 2017 film's poor reviews and underwhelming box office performance left the franchise at a crossroads it has only just begun to figure out how to get around.
