10. The Amazing Spider-Man 2

There is an unfortunate irony in the fact that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features what might be the best live-action suit Spidey has ever worn, because it also happens to be the worst-received of the Spider-Man movies.

While the first film in the Marc Webb-directed franchise wasn't a masterpiece, it was a solid introduction to the world of Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker and the more supernatural approach it was going for. Unfortunately, its sequel offered little of value to that universe, desecrating much of the story it had begun to tell.

Fans had so many issues with the 2014 sequel, particularly the fact that it felt like two or three movies all wrapped up into one. There was too much going on, which it made hard for any of the storylines to breathe or develop in the way that they needed to. The more original incarnation of the Green Goblin wasn't a fan-favorite either, while the bizarre decision to make Jamie Foxx's Electro blue was, well, it was a choice. And speaking of choices, the decision to kill off Gwen Stacy after developing such a strong romance between her and Peter was heavily criticized.

There is a lot of good in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, especially the chemistry between Garfield and Stone, but that wasn't enough to save it from being a huge disappointment - and an unfortunate end to this chapter in the Spider-Man saga.
