Inhumans, superhero TV shows
MARVEL’S INHUMANS - The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family. 1. Inhumans

You want to talk about a show that squandered all of its potential? Audiences who watched Inhumans are ready to have that discussion.

Premiering on TV screens during the height of the superhero TV renaissance, Inhumans aired on ABC in 2017 and it wasn't exactly met with a warm response. Marvel fans had been longing to see a portrayal of the Inhumans in the MCU (jury's still out on whether the show was actually set in the MCU), so the prospect of getting one was exciting for them. There was a lot of buzz for it too, with a limited theatrical premiere being a potential draw. Unfortunately, the box-office performance was considered an underperformance and the TV ratings were low.

What went wrong with Inhumans? Probably everything. This was a larger-than-life ambitious project and its limited TV budget didn't help in selling that, but there were problems with the pacing, storytelling, and over-the-top portrayals of some of its characters. In short, it didn't do justice to the source material and it left fans wondering what the point of it even was.

The cast were good and there was certainly potential in the project, but it didn't really live up to it. As a result, Inhumans lives on in infamy as major missed opportunity.
