1. Captain America: The First Avenger

We're going all the way back to the early days of the MCU (and the earliest MCU romance, technically) with this one. Captain America: The First Avenger was released back in 2011 and introduced us to the beloved Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter romance. It was the classic boy-meets-girl love story; he was the young kind-hearted man who became a super soldier, she was the warm committed agent that would go on to found a special law-enforcement government organization. Okay, maybe not the classic love story, but it was a love story that became a classic.

I don't know if it's the nostalgia of The First Avenger's '40s setting, the hope of a love story set against the backdrop of the evil Red Skull's rise, or just the chemistry between Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell, but there is just something about the movie that it feels like a good old-fashioned, romance. And it all builds towards one of the most emotional moments in the history of the MCU.

The romance between Peggy and Steve is the MCU's finest. It's the shared universe's most endearing, most pivotal, and most heartfelt; and The First Avenger is where it all began. Love may be a sweet old-fashioned notion, and this movie highlights that, while also highlighting what's so timeless and enduring about it. It showcased all of that and more, single-handedly introducing us to the MCU's most important love story.
