Honorable mention: WandaVision

Yes, we know that WandaVision is not a movie (that's why it isn't part of the main list), but it would be remiss of us not to at least mention what might just be one of the most romantic superhero stories ever told. The 9-part Disney Plus series is renowned for placing the sole focus on Wanda Maximoff and Vision's relationship - one of the many underdeveloped aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. And it thrives because of that.

The show pays tributes to the classic sitcoms of the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, 2000s, and 2010s,many of which were driven by love and family - two things WandaVision has in spades. It's a joy to watch the pair figure out the wacky world of Westview and Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are revelations in the roles, balancing the light-heartedness well with the more mature themes of the MCU. And yes, there are plenty of profound moments, sad moments, and everything in between, but through it all the romantic relationship of Wanda and Vision is alive and well.

WandaVision is as tragic as it is romantic, as sad as it is hilarious, but it's a wonderful encapsulation of the Wanda and Vision romance, highlighting the ups and downs of a relationship, and the lengths to which people can go to for love. It's bittersweet, but it's beautiful.
