6. Deadpool

If you're familiar with the Deadpool character, this one probably seems like an unusual choice to you - and I get it. Deadpool is full of profanity, violence, and crude jokes, how could it be a romantic movie? But the irony is that it is a romantic movie; a very romantic movie, at times, actually.

The film revolves around the relationship between Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) and Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). It's actually a really sweet relationship, as the two get each other from the beginning, with Vanessa proving to be a great equal to Wade's larger-than-life personality. The chemistry between the two is sizzling and it rarely feels like you're watching a superhero movie whenever they are on-screen together.

The irony is that the movie was marketed as a romcom at one point in time, which was one of its many outside-the-box promotional strategies due to its limited marketing budget. It worked well because of its Valentine's Day release window, and honestly it holds up after seeing the movie, because the Wade and Vanessa romance is very much at the forefront of the story.

Love stories don't come more outlandish than this one, but they also rarely come more sweet.
