4. Superman: The Movie

The romance between Superman and Lois Lane is the very definition of comic book royalty. Very few of the romantic pairings in DC and/or Marvel Comics over the years could ever compete with their timeless chemistry and their unique dynamic. It's just golden, and there is perhaps no greater representation of that than 1978's Superman: The Movie.

The film explores the Man of Steel's arrival on Earth, his beginnings as Daily Planet reporter Clark Kent, and his workplace back-and-forth with Lois Lane. It's everything you could want from a Superman origin story and there is a reason that very few adaptations since have been able to live up to this one. A large part of that is the chemistry between Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder.

The dynamic between the two in the Daily Planet is so good as Lois makes it her mission to get close to Superman, unaware that he is right beside her. But whenever Clark dons the cape, it's enchanting. So much about the iconic Clark Kent and Lois Lane dynamic originated in this movie, and that makes it a must-watch for fans of the pairing.

The movie was the first real time that the romance between the two had been significantly leaned into in live-action and, pardon the pun, it flew as a result of that. You want to see the perfect cinematic version of Superman and Lois Lane? You're looking at them!
