Bayley vs. Sasha Banks: Iron Woman match

There will always be moments that define an era. For the WWE’s Women’s Revolution and NXT wrestling, the Bayley and Sasha Banks Iron Woman match was it. These two did more than put on a classic performance. They helped put NXT on the map. Without this, it’s doubtful that NXT and the WWE’s women’s division would be where it is today. 

Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus: Triple Threat match

Event: WrestleMania 39

This was easily the best match of 2023 and showed why the big guys are more than body slams. Once upon a time, that wasn't the case; it was slams and power bombs. Now, though, it's something else entirely.

You may not have needed Drew McIntyre, Sheamus or Gunther to fly, but they showed agility people their size shouldn’t have. And, if you don’t know the winner, the match is full of near falls that will make your heart stop.

2024 Women's Royal Rumble match

I don’t like the term "instant classic". Time needs to pass for something to be given that title. Nevertheless, this writer has to concede his rule. The 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match was an instant classic.

This Royal Rumble match highlighted the present and the future of professional wrestling’s women’s division. There was no need to bring in WWE Hall of Fame stars or gimmicks (except R-Truth running in, which was fun). This was a focus on what’s to come and it was perfectly done.
