Ratched

If you forgot that Ratched season 2 was even a thing once upon a time, you’re forgiven. The Netflix series starring Sarah Paulson as the infamous One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest character was originally picked up for two seasons, but its first season is now over three years old and there haven’t been any real updates since.

Well, there has been one slight update, and its not a good one. Paulson revealed to Variety back in August 2022 that she’s not sure if season 2 is happening. What complicates things even more is that the project was one of Ryan Murphy’s first shows created specifically for Netflix after he signed a deal to collaborate with the streamer, because now he’s leaving the service for Disney. So where does that leave Ratched season 2?

The show was quite successful, but it wasn’t the game-changing hit that many were hoping it would be, and that’s especially disappointing now considering the success Murphy’s more recent outings Monster and The Watcher have achieved.

With all of that in mind, it wouldn’t be completely surprising if Netflix decided to cancel Ratched in the upcoming year (if they haven’t indeed already done that). Either way, fans would undoubtedly appreciate an answer to all the questions they have been asking about its future.
