Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau knows a thing or two about characters who operate in shades of grey.

As Jaime Lannister, Coster-Waldau seamlessly navigated Jaime's arc from a cocky and arrogant knight to a more introspective and conflicted individual. These are qualities we often associate with Bruce Wayne and his alter ego. Batman most certainly has an arrogance about him in the way he leads -- he often gives my way is the best way energy considering himself right and others wrong -- and his internal conflicts are a key part of the character's DNA.

Coster-Waldau's ability to convey Jaime's internal conflicts and vulnerabilities added layers of humanity to the character and that's precisely what DC needs in Batman. Sure, Batman isn't out there partaking in incestuous relationships, but this is a character who is plagued by internal conflicts and always keeps those closest to him at arm's length often out of a fear of letting them see his softer side and of losing them. There is no doubt that Coster-Waldau would be able to capture the many layers of Bruce Wayne in order to give us a captivating performance.

Plus, who wouldn't want to see Coster-Waldau suit up as one of the most iconic superheroes of all time?
