2. Black Adam

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 38%

Did The Rock change the hierarchy of the DCEU, no, but he did deliver a truly amazing origin movie that was definitely underrated by the masses and did a perfect job of introducing a new group of heroes into the DCEU.

Black Adam is not a character that is well known by many casual comic book readers, nor were the heroes who joined him as the leads of this film. However, Black Adam actually pulled off a feat that many DCEU movies before it failed to do which was introduce a group of new heroes in a way that made it easy for audiences to get to know them and allowed them to quickly become invested in the characters.

The Rock was perfect in the title role, delivering a standout performance as the title character who was just as complicated and complex as his comic book counterpart. Add in the film's incredible action sequences, incredibly special effects, and an incredible ensemble that included Pierce Brosnan, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, and Aldis Hodge, and the film was a standout in the later chapter of the DCEU.

Black Adam guided DC toward an exciting future that actually had fans eager to see what could be next, but sadly with the DCEU coming to an end, the film's future-looking narrative ended up being a bit of a letdown. But hey, it sure was fun getting to see Henry Cavil's Superman and The Rock's Black Adam meet face to face, even if just for a few seconds.
