Once Upon a Time is one of the best female-empowering shows

Alright, I know I’ve mostly been a negative Nancy, so thank you guys for sticking with me! Let’s end this post on a positive note. And that’s highlighting the impact and change that Once Upon a Time brought. It’s really one of the smartest and best shows on television, even now years after it’s aired. At the time it came out, it was unique and there wasn’t anything quite like it. My favorite part of the show is the portrayal of strong, female characters. And not just any characters. But Disney princesses!

This was such a different look and take at Disney princesses on television. You would’ve never seen Snow White holding a sword before OUAT did it. There's love and romance, but that's not all the women's stories are about. They're also their own heroes who are strong and capable. And that's such an important message. Once Upon a Time changed the landscape of media on the small screen, and that’s definitely something to be proud of!

All seven seasons of Once Upon a Time are streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
