A Ghost Rider show is still in development (and Marvel has reportedly cast him)
Does anyone remember how, back in 2023, there were reports that an upcoming Disney Plus Ghost Rider show was in development? Well, it's apparently still going strong.
Last year, a press release from Marvel turbocharged our excitement about the character with reports of a brand-spanking-new Ghost Rider comic series zooming our way in March 2024. Seeing as we're in May 2024, there was a clear bump on the road there, but that's okay. According to the press release, Marvel is aiming to ignite a fresh era for the Spirit of Vengeance with a fiery twist - Johnny Blaze could be passing his hellish torch. Sadly, there aren't a lot of details floating around for us to hold on to, but it sounds like it is still going to be a good time to be a Ghost Rider fan, as we have heard some of the first rumblings about the rumored Disney Plus TV series in some time.
Marvel has reportedly cast Ghost Rider
Insider HolyField News just dropped a sizzling tweet that's bound to get all of the Marvel Universe buzzing louder than Ghost Rider's chains at a ghostly showdown. They've hinted that Marvel Studios has cast the actor who will play the title role and there will be an official announcement about it coming our way this August.
But, who could be in the running to play the iconic Ghost Rider? Fans have previously listed Norman Reedus, Luke Grimes, Travis Fimmel, and other incredibly talented actors as must-casts, and with the official announcement supposedly not coming until August, we all have time to theorize and fan-cast the role. Now, let’s turn the flames higher. Remember a few moons ago when whispers flew around that Ryan Gosling was the fan-favorite casting for the flaming-skulled vigilante? After this casting news, fans will definitely be holding their breaths, hoping these whispers aren’t just echoes in the dark. Gosling as Ghost Rider? Imagine the cool, brooding intensity he’d bring on that bike. I believe he's talented (K)enough to bring such a complex and intense character to life, honestly.
But hey, let’s not put all our eggs in one basket just yet. With August just a wheel spin away, we're all revved up to see who will emerge as the next defender of the innocent and the punisher of the wicked. Whoever it turns out to be, we’re ready for a wild ride through the realms of fire and vengeance.
Stay tuned, and keep those eyes peeled and fingers crossed. Maybe, just maybe, we'll see Gosling lighting up our screens with hellfire very soon.
