As James Gunn continues building the new DCU, he'll need to bring in actors with exceptional talent and he shouldn't fear looking at actors who have played comic book characters before. Case in point, Michael Fassbender.

Fassbender's portrayal of Magneto in 20th Century's X-Men movies was nothing short of brilliant, capturing the complexity and depth of the character with a performance that blended charisma, intensity, and vulnerability. He was able to convey the inner struggles of Magneto, a character torn between his traumatic past and a desire for justice, flawlessly demonstrating his capacity to bring depth and authenticity to Batman.

The Dark Knight is a complex character with a rich psychological profile, and Fassbender is more than capable of delivering a masterful performance showcasing the multifaceted nature of Bruce Wayne. His on-screen presence is commanding, and he has proven himself capable of delivering both physically demanding action sequences and emotionally charged scenes.

By casting Michael Fassbender, Gunn would not only secure a seasoned actor but also bring a fresh perspective to the iconic role, ensuring a Batman that is both true to the character's essence and infused with new depth and complexity. Plus, we selfishly want nothing more than to see Fassbender back in a comic book franchise.
