The year has given us some truly amazing new entries to the Disney catalog, but there have also been some disappointing releases that didn't quite live up to the hype. Each of the Disney movies to hit theaters this year was unique but they were not all equally made. There is a clear line in the sand dividing the top Disney movies of the year and the bottom of the pack.

Of note, for the purpose of this list, we're not including movies from the likes of Marvel or Lucasfilm on this list which is why you won't see entries such as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The Marvels, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, or Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on this list. You also won't see movies that were released exclusively on Disney+ as we're only looking at theatrical releases for the year.
