23. Gotham Knights (2023)

To call Gotham Knights' brief run a bit of a rollercoaster would probably be a bit of an understatement. The final DC TV series commissioned by The CW originally received a ton of hate because of a poor first trailer that didn't sell the show well. Although its pilot episode was a mixed bag, the show gradually improved with each episode, so by the time it ended its first season, it was a very entertaining ensemble superhero teen drama.

Its greatest strength lay in its immensely talented cast and the chemistry they had with one another, and its portrayal of Batman villains the Court of Owls was pretty great too. It had all the potential in the world, and with the promise of Two-Face in its nixed second season, we'll always wonder what heights it could have achieved if it hadn't been prematurely cancelled. Heck, if it hadn't killed off Batman in the poor way that it did, it might have reached more of the core DC fans.

If Gotham Knights had been made five years earlier, it could have been a huge success. Unfortunately, the stars just didn't align for it. And yet, it has cult classic written all over it.
